Help painting Foam Latex
Hello everyone, seeking some advice on painting Foam Latex please.
From initial research I have done, I have read using Acrylic paints works, however I've also read about putting on a base of rubber cement paint before applying any acrylics?
If any of you could shed some light please on the correct method and paint/equipment needed to use when painting Foam Latex, I'll build you a Batpod as my next project :up
Thanks,

Re: Help painting Foam Latex
It depends a bit on what it is being used for and what color you want to make it. I have used a product called Studio Dye, made by a company in California called Graphic Marker. This is a liquid version of the dye in sharpie markers, so that works well on foam latex. If you are only after temporary color most greasepaint make-up will work. For long lasting color for armor or something like that, I would use acrylic paints for highlights, but if you need a deep color, you would usually color the latex before foaming it.

Re: Help painting Foam Latex
Thanks for the info so far. Its to paint the mounted foam latex sections of some Begins Bob D armor. Currently the leg sections are in a natural 'grey' state and need painting black.
I'm just looking for the best method and paint to get the job done :)
I am UK based as well

Thank you Shawn :up
Do you mean the pigment? If so what paint should the dye be mixed with?

Re: Help painting Foam Latex
you dilute with alcohol or you can apply direct depending on what you'd like to active color wise...I'm using these on an upcoming ManBat costume
