Re: Changing up my comic suit: Cowl, gauntlets, belt and 'rangs

Thanks gentlemen. Other people have done most of the work on this project so far. I just get to be the lucky kid to bring the pieces together.

On the subject of my Ross Cowl, I still like it quite a bit. It's just time for some expansion. The new cowl exceeded my expectations, even though they were high considering the artist. It's so less claustrophobic than the Ross for my headsize, the ears aren't quite so tall, and I'm enjoying some neck mobility.

I haven't been able to suit up yet, but there is a very slim chance I could get into it for Free Comic Book Day. More likely won't until the Kids' Fest, but I will get some photos from that day for certain.

Here's the components of the grappel gun laid out. The inspiration came from Uncle Ed's Gotham by Gaslight Avatar. He has a grappel prop there that I really liked, and all the necessary parts were sitting in my basement.

The attachment for my utility belt is an old cell phone case that I think I can match the color of the pouches. I may yet cut the barrel down a bit depending how it hangs off my hip. Probably a week before I can tackle this one.

That's a really sharp looking Grappling hook. Great use of materials. Like the other bros said, that cowl looks perfect. Highly considering getting that cowl.

Nice grap gun. From a visual POV, I think a shorter barrel would be better.

Looking good! I just got one of the "Code of the Knight" cowls myself and I love it! More cowls need to be made around that size.

Agreed. Here is the glued and primed grappel. Attached my old Battlestar Galactica capsules to mimic CO2 chambers and adjustment knobs. The hook should sit more straight in the chamber when done. Haven't decided on a color scheme yet.

Don't know if I will get a chance to suit up tonight or not. However, I used VinXero's recommendation from his thread to use duplicolor on Gotham 100 boots to eliminate the vinyl sheen.

Very happy with the results on the boots.

Dale,

This is ,looking fantastic mate. The cowl and the gauntlets are looking exceptional, as is the belt.

Love what you have created with the grapnell gun, its a fantastic, original concept that harnesses the comic styling perfectly. Great work mate.

Paul
