Going to San Diego...

this weekend, between Xmas and NYE. Anything particular I should try to do or see?

I know I've meet a few BOTB members from San Diego in the past. PM me, if you want to meet for a drink and talk the Bat,etc. I'm not sure what my itinerary is like yet.

Where are you staying? If it's anywhere near downtown area, be sure and check out the Gaslamp District. Lot's of good restaurants and bars/pubs within about a 5 block radius. Dicks Last Resort is fun (they are rude on purpose), Nicky Rottens for burgers can't be beat. Pubs and Bars everywhere you look. On weekends, get outa there before bar break between 1-2 am. Fights galore.

good to know about the fights. I'd been to dirty dick when I went to SDCC a few years ago. I just found out they are a chain, which kind of ruins it a bit. I like the Gaslamp district and Little Italy. I might head back to that area for NYE.

I'm staying in Chula, 'cause I wasn't sure what I'd be doing, but knew I'd rather put the money towards the sites than a room.

If it were warmer, I'd have looked into some of the adventure packages. But I'm still looking into skydiving. I figure that is safer than a trip to TJ.

Hey BatDemon, I am up in North County (Oceanside) If you have any little ones I would suggest Legoland as they are havinf their Kids New Years Eve bash. Its supposed to be a blast, If you are into dancing, then there are ton of places downtown to checkout. There is lots of swing and salsa, some tango too. Also i would suggest heading over to Coronado. Beautiful beach and lots of cool shops, And if you like ice skating, there is a rink behind the Hotel Del Coronado. Its like skating on the beach. Hope you have fun.

SD's my hometown, definitely hit up the Gaslamp and explore Balboa Park- specifically the Botanical Garden. Gorgeous, miss it. Have fun! :up

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

I did walk around the Gaslamp, both daytime and night...what a difference that is. The police were staging outside of one club that I'm told has fight problems.

Made it to the zoo, but not till afternoon, then it started raining. Did see the pandas, though.

I saw the sign for KC BBQ, but didn't make it there. Next time maybe. I usually hit the Fish Market.

Did some of the touristy things, zoo, whale watching. The weather wasn't in my favor until NYE, so I got most of what I wanted to do packed into one day, Skydiving and para sailing!

The thing I like most about SD, is the temperate climate. It's back to snow and freezing weather now.
