http://www.hellskitchencc.com/ my experiences

Late last year I wanted a set of Batman TDK armour. Everyone I spoke to spoke very highly of Kris, his work & what a great guy he was to deal with.

I just wanted to post this for information because if I had this knowledge I would not be in the very unhappy situation I am in now. I for one have not had a good experience with Hells Kitchen.

I don’t want to go on a rant I’m just saying beware. My issues are:

1.Being required to pay early December 2012
2.Suit completion deadlines continually moved
3.Explanations ever-changing
4.Not issuing a refund even though nothing has been started

Like I said I don’t want to get into it all again so I’ve just posted the entire conversation I’ve had with Kris (below). I’ve left out 3rd party names and a couple of personal items that I explain along the way.

...actually to post all the dialogue here would be difficult as each post only allows 1000 characters.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. I get the whole getting behind, but it should be made right.

I'm confused. Haven't you been trying to "trade" this suit in the trade section? This is the suit that's not in your possession but will be shipped from the maker but we pay you?

What is all this talk of pay? That infers that money is changing hands.

Im still confused how you could have several 'for trade' threads for items you never received in the first place... and now you're angry at Hellskitchen?

You need to get a life buddy... how dare you speak about Kris like that. What you don't understand is that unlike allot of people out there Kris works alone and had a family and children to take care of. So you have to wait a while for your gear... build a bridge and get over it mate..Kris is a fkn amazing guy who I've known personally for over a year now and he's become a very good friend of mine.. I got a full urethane TDK suit from him and I had to wait to get it but I wasn't in his back about it or at the least posting ridiculous pointless threads about him. When I got my suit it was all worth while because it's a truly a piece of artwork.. magic.. the suit is the best thing I've ever seen so next time keep your opinions to yourself when dealing with a well respected artist mate

Yeah, I'm a bit confused myself. I'm sure the wait is frustrating but it sounds like your venting the frustration on hellskitchen because the suit hasn't been "traded" yet. And really should you be trading a suit that you don't yet have?

I'm confused as well, and I don't have a dog in this fight. But telling someone to "get a life" and "don't bad mouth a respected artist" is a bit much.

If deadlines were pushed back on something I had ordered or commissioned, I'd be a little pissed too. If an artist cannot complete something in the quoted time, then he shouldn't take the job.

Because the guy has a family/life is not an excuse. We all have that, and if we are taking on big jobs, we have to work around it. I don't know anyone in this hobby who has a staff of artists who help create their work. So the fact that "he works alone" is also not a valid argument.

I'm not picking on Kris, I've never delt with him. But I do see a lot of artists in this hobby who take on a lot more than they can possibly accomplish.

Also, it's probably not the best practice to trade what you don't possess.

Just my thoughts.
