Batman (Dick Grayson) From Batman: Bad Blood film

Hey everybody, I took quite a hiatus due to quite a lot of personal problems, but I'm back, and decided to show off my new Batman cosplay that I got a couple months ago (had to wait for the cowl from TigerStoneFX, but it's arrived also).

It's Dick Grayson from when he takes up the mantle of Batman in Batman: Bad Blood when Bruce goes "missing". Here's the cowl first off (it was just put that way before y'all say the ears are a bit bent, I took the liberty of resting the cowl on the box now so the ears are not bending).

So here is the main part of the cosplay, I ordered it from ACG Cosplay, which was pretty quick in getting it to me and it fits too!

Sorry about the picture being upside down, I have no idea why that happened lol.

Here's the belt, cape, gloves and boot covers, I need to get a webbing belt to stick to the inside of the belt (I totally DETEST velcro cos it can make or break a bat-cosplay!), I may consider updating the cape a bit, due to the fact that it's supposed to sit on my shoulders and it doesn't (I think it's due to the fact that it pulls down on the cape when you fasten the velcro).

I'm not a big fan of the gloves, they do fit, but due to my disability, the fingers and thumbs are very tight and it's a bit distrating afterwards.

I haven't had chance to try the boot covers, however, I'm tempted to just get the proper boots and get rid of boot covers.

That is an outstanding cowl! This classic suit is always great to see, and the cowl is the most important piece, glad that you got one from Tigerstone, they have high quality items for sale! I also agree on the boots, boot covers look improvised, and you can get affordable boots over the internet easily. The cape looks like a half circle cape, it will not fall nice on the shoulders, best is to have a 3/4 cape but it needs to be sewn in a special way to fit nice on the shoulders (the cape in my avatar is a 3/4 cape that I produced some years ago).Good luck with your suiting-up and feel free to post pictures here of the result.

Thank you :)

Unfortunately at the moment, the Tigerstone Cowl won't fit past my nose (it pushes against my nose) so I'm guessing it's still a tad stiff from when it was in the mould.

With the cape, I'm gonna see if I can get a pleather one or a proper leather one later on, I would like to make it more authentic and have already found some boots to go with the costume itself :).

I'm hoping to get this done for Wales Comic Con here in the UK in December!!!

So quick update. My mom can officially wear the cowl, however it refused to get taken off and nearly busted her lip (which is NOT a good sign), so I tried it myself and it still goes to my forehead and stops there like it's very tight in the neck part and also pushes against my bad ear which I had surgery on ten years ago.

I'm getting a tad frustrated, as I have three options -
1) Sell the cowl on eBay and hope that I can get the money back that I paid on this cowl from TSFX (which was £220)
2) Cut a slit down the back (which TSFX DOES NOT recommend), but if I do that and it STILL DOES NOT fit me, then I'm screwed; since it won't be able to be sold. (This scenario goes for number 3 as well!)
3) Turn the one piece into a two piece cowl - neck piece and the main cowl helmet piece...however, if I do that, then it is unable to be sold completely on eBay...also TSFX does not recommend that either!

So in honesty, I do not know what to do, I have worn urethane rubber masks before (Joker and Jason Voorhees) and they fit me perfectly, so I have no idea why this does not want to go past my head.

Sorry to hear that...I would recommend to let it stay like that, cutting it in pieces will not help the problem with fitting and putting a slit in it will destroy the value and also will not help with fitting. Reasons are: The cowl is sculpted. The size of the armature (head that was used to form the cowl on it) defines the size of the cowl AND the shape! In addition to that there is the rubber used to produce the cowl. Very elastic rubber will help adjust to bigger heads but that will result in other problems. Also the thickness of the cowl will define how elastic it is.Small cowls are a pain to wear because your skin and nose and ears will hurt and you will get headaches eventually. I strongly recommend to get a cowl that is fitting well. You can use lubricant to put it on but still it may hurt when you take it off. I know one brother here who is able to help you with a big sized cowl made from latex, he maybe able to paint it blue also. Its Paul Roberts aka artsee1

Re: Batman (Dick Grayson) From Batman: Bad Blood film

So had a check on facebook, and a lot of bat-cosplayers are saying to check out The Bat Texan, so I did and I like his "Neal Adams V3" Cowl, I hope it stretches over my head as I have the same size (Idk if Bat Texan can do it in a bigger head shape than what he has made it into.

So just wrote down a little list of what I'm going to do in the future (in a few months after the new year), and that's: -

1) New cowl from The Bat Texan (or if anywhere else has an Arkham Asylum one that will fit and will be able to change colour, I'll get that instead as apparently the Arkham Asylum/City cowl is based off the Neal Adams cowl)

2) New cape...I need a cape that will sit on my shoulders compared to the one I already have got that came with the main cosplay itself. I may go all out and pay for a leather one that's in dark blue colour which hopefully won't cost as much as I think it will (I've seen a listing on etsy and there's a seller who makes Batman capes from I think it's either leather or pleather (I pretty much am sure that it is not pleather) and that's cheap enough and it sits on the shoulders, so that's a plus!!!

3) Change boot covers to proper bat-boots (in blue obvs lol). As said before, I hate boot covers, they just don't make the cosplay look the part imo.

So just sent a messsage to zentai-zentai asking if I can change the colour of the pleather cape from black to dark blue and I'm searching for more places to get a replacement cowl from.

Not long now and it should be finished within a few months at the most!
