Re: ADVICE REQUIRED (PART TWO)
Well, thanks for this Guys. I feel a bit bad for bringing this up on here but I count each and everyone of you as friends and I knew that friends are able to help each other when faced with problems like this..
Angelus7 and Jokerscrowbar you are both right, I've decided that enough IS enough and he's gotta go NOW.
Theopolis, a good point and right on the money so to speak. I don't think (can't be sure as all I have is his word for what happened) it was irresponsible behaviour that got him in this fix but a wave of bad luck that he's done very little to escape. And yes, this is the last thing we need to be thinkign about at a time like this.
TWConstantine, that was somewhat amusing, painfully so but amusing..
Moodospider, thanks Bro. I read you post and found myself agreeing with the points you make. I think I am partially at fault for letting it go on so long and you're right about my Wife-to-be she IS a very special lady and I'm the luckiest man alive to have found her.
I've come to the decision that it is time for some tough-love as you put it. I'm going to speak to him when he gets back from Work tomorrow and explain the situation along with the deadline for either paying us what he owes or leaving immediately.
I am aware that it may end the friendship but if that is what happens then so be it, he has to learn and he can't do that by letting others take the burden.
DarkknightPGH, wow. Thanks for the candour, it's rare that people have the guts to speak their mind or to be this up-front but you can. That's an admirable trait Bro and I hope you never lose it.
I've come to the decision that he has to either a/pay up what he owes us. By current reckoning this is somewhere in the region of £600 ($1, 099.66 according to Currency Coverter) by Friday at 6pm or b/pack up all his stuff and be out of the house on Saturday Morning no later that 9am
Hopefully he'll realise it's for his benefit and maybe the friendship can survive but if not then so be it.
Thanks again everyone, I really do value your opinions :batman and as soon as I know what's happening I'll post back here on Friday pm / Saturday am

Re: ADVICE REQUIRED (PART TWO)
I think you've made a sensible decision in asking him to leave. Personally I would have gone with a more Batmna esque approach.
Put on the suit, burst into his room in the middle of the night, say 3am, dragged him out bed and held him by his legs dangling out the window until he had swore that he was going to get his life together or next time I'd drop him and cliam it was suicide (casue the way his life is I'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time form the cops).
The next morning pretned everything is normal. If he doesn't have the rent in a few days time and a job wihting two weeks. DO it again, go to drop him, then tell him he's not worth it drag him outside, lock the door and smile.
Okay, a bit extremet perhaps but you'd feel better...I promise.
Still the more rational apporach as always from you Nightwing...

Although you're right and I have taken the sensible approach I've gotta admit your way sounded much more fun :batman

Re: ADVICE REQUIRED (PART TWO)
Bad luck is understandable, but he's been irresponsible as far as getting his life back together. He hasn't accepted responsibility for rent of any sort or even for helping around the house. He's been content to freeload instead.
One thing I'd advise is to get some new locks to put on the doors. If you tell him he has until 9am of whatever day to be out, by 9:30 have those new locks on the doors. Don't give him the opportunity to blow you off.

Glad to see you've reached a decision. With or without our advice it all comes down to it being your call. Good luck bro.

Re: ADVICE REQUIRED (PART TWO)
Well, I got home this evening at around 7pm to the House exactly as I left it this Morning at 7am.
I had texted him to say 'We Need to Talk' mid-afternoon to make sure that when I got home he wasn't in Bed yet when I got home there was no sign of him.
As I said in my earlier posts both my Wife and I have definitely had enough, so I'm getting up slightly earlier AND sleeping on the Couch so as to catch him before he can sneak out in the Morning.
Watch this space for further news :batman

Re: ADVICE REQUIRED (PART TWO)
You know he'll probably be there at 3am...and you could just happen to be in a bat suit....eh getting photos and stuff....leave the camera on accidentaly, scare the sh1te out of him.
When he's gone send in the video to America's funniest Home Movies - you'll win and get the money he owes you from the show! Everybody wins, he's gone and publically humiliated and your $ richer!....just don't forget to post it here
