this is pretty cool flying right here.

Re: Did you ever see a Mig do this?

I've seen that video before... That's definitely the new Sukhoi fighter, the Su-37 I believe.

At the airshow I went to, the Raptor was doing some freakin crazy stunts. Thing was, he was doing them at altitude, so it was hard to see anything it was doing without a good pair of binoculars(which I was lucky to have with me at the time).

From what I've seen, this would have to tie with the Raptor for the title of world's most maneuverable fighter. Thing is, I would place the Raptor first in everything else. You don't need maneuverability when you have range and stealth.

Before this airshow I went to last month, I thought this Sukhoi was more maneuverable. But I saw that Raptor do some of the very same stunts the Su-37 did in the video.

While the raptor is in a flat spin, it can shoot missiles in dozens of different directions in the course of the spin. It can also come out of a vertical climbing stall in any precise direction because of its vectored thrusters(insane!). That is definitely of great value in a dogfight.

I kinda think of the advantage of maneuverability vs. the advantage of range and stealth like the idea of bringing a knife to a gunfight. Kinda like the saracen swordsman that gets shot by Indy. :p You can maneuver all you want, but the missile you fail to see is what will get you. emoticon
