"Our Jesus is better than your Jesus"...

The LDS church does not believe this. I do know some self-righteous Mormons though. I think that happends in all faiths.

I know that. By my comment above I didn't mean that they actually believed that, but a lot of Mormons around here seem to have that mentality.

Do you live in Utah like I do? The self righteous, condescending attitude of Mormons around here can be overbearing, probably a little more so than in some other faiths... That's what I'm getting at.

I've experienced Mormons in other states than in Utah, and on average theyre much nicer and less condescending than the ones here.

I live in Washington. I did live in Utah at one time for about 3 years (my dad's work transfered him there). I am sorry for the experiences that you have had with some of them. I am sure they are not all like that. I have experienced both kinds. And I am a member of the LDS church. Once in a while the leaders of the church come out and say that the church members should not act that way because of some experiences people not in the church have had. Of course we are all human and make mistakes or are mistaken.
I also think that sometimes because people in the church are a close knit bunch and do a lot of activities together some people can feel left out or they are being picked on because they are not a part of the majority without the majority even knowing that they are being condescending. I have experienced this both ways.
I hope this makes sense.
Anyways, I am sure that others on this board don't really care about this so if you want to talk about this some more feel free to email me.
Good talking to you!

Sure, I dont mind talking via email. By the way, I meant no disrespect to anyone, I was just making an observation. I've actually heard the same observation about them(once I heard it from my ex girlfriend, who was a staunch LDS), from themselves, and like you said they're not all like that... My next door neighbor's a former LDS bishop and we've been lifelong friends.

It just tends to happen more that way among mormons in Utah, than mormons outside of utah. And that's why Utahns tend to get that rep. :wink

I was in PA a few weeks ago and one of the small town there the local police cars have "Whatever It Takes" as their motto.
