Why doesn't anybody TELL me these things?

Re: Spiderman Reveals His Identity
Yeah, boring. Saw it coming when they announced they were doing Civil War (Marvel's sad attempt to keep up with DC's Infinite Crisis) and during the arc a hero would reveal their identity to the public. It was obviously going to be Spiderman, he has the least to lose and is one of the few Marvel character's worth a damn to begin with. What makes it even LESS interesting is this isn't the first major hero they have revealed the identity to the public. They did that to Daredevil over a year ago.
That's Marvel for you. Take a bad idea and run with it. Unless it's a movie adaptation, then that's DC's job.

I used to be a cynic but my hearts not in it.
I think this is a bit more than a copy of Infinite Crisis.
There is already a thread here somewhere about the whole superhero registration thing
so I wont go into that.
Lets just hope that they take this somewhere better than where DC is heading.

I didn't say it was a copy. I said it was an attempt to keep up with the mass popularity of IC. When IC was out every single issue was the top selling comic. Marvel is just trying to come back with their "major shake up series" but I don't think it is anywhere near IC.
And the reason why the story is so boring to me is that the superhero registry thing has been done before. In both DC and Marvel. Marvel has toyed with it many times over the years and it's even a big part of the X-Men films. It's just a dead issue to me and not all that interesting.

Re: Spiderman Reveals His Identity
Marvel's latest could be interesting.
I avoided anything to do with Infinite Crisis as much as possible and I doubt I will be buying much DC if they keep going the way they are.
Like I said I hope they go somewhere with it.

Wow!!!! what a weak concept, not to mention they stole it directly from The Incredibles (2004) "KIDDIE" movie

Re: Spiderman Reveals His Identity
I wouldn't reveal my identity at all.
I can't believe Parker would do this. I'm not up to date on the War or anything, but how much crap did the Green Goblin put Parker through when he found out who he was?
That can't be a good idea.
If I knew a superhero who openly admitted his/her identity I wouldn't want to become close to him/her. I'm not fond of being dangled off the top of bridges and buildings...

Re: Spiderman Reveals His Identity
I'm not a big MARVEL fan (except for Ultimate Spidey and the Ultimates V2) but if they keep giving former high-selling titles to people like Bruce Jones (NIGHTWING) I'm not gonna be a big DC fan either however I grabbed CIVIL WAR #1 and 2 after an article in the Papers here in the UK.
And on the subject of would I register or not, well I'm very much of the old school like Barry Allen, Hal Jordan, Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne and would keep my ID secret to protect those I cared about

Re: Spiderman Reveals His Identity
I just read this issue today. I like the Civil War storyline, because it creates a moral dilemma for each character in the Marvel Universe. I'm not sure how I feel about Spidey going public, but I'm glad to see them taking chances with the character rather than letting him rot in limbo like most comic book heroes.
Obviously there will be a backlash from Spider-Man's enemies, but I'm mostly interested to see how his supporting cast reacts, like J. Jonah Jameson, Joe Robertson, Betty Brant and Flash Thompson, Doc Connors and his family, not to mention the law.
Should make for some interesting stories for the next couple of years at least. I hope they keep the change instead of explaining it all away as super-hypnotism or something.
