Yes, I found the pics from that site, I had them in a folder i totally forgot about.
You get a little idea how the suits were constructed, Thought it might help someone.

No Problem.

I think the Turtles suits is the coolest suits i have ever seen on screen.
They are so well done.

The suits in the first and second movie is so great, but in the third movie they look so bad In my opinion.

Anyway, i cant wait to anyone take on this project to do Replica TMNT suits.

i have a mate who is a TMNT nut and we are going to try and make our own suits in about a years time. one thing you have to bear in mind is that the suits in the film were made of foam latex and more often than not they had to be destroyed after a couple of shoots.

Re: NINJA TURTLE SUITS

One thing I'm wondering is how would one be able to see out of the things and still make it look real?

The actors were totally blind while in the masks, I hear; the pics Markus is showing seem to confirm it, since those heads seem to be totally animatronic.

You'd have to find a way to sculpt the turtle heads' eyes to mate up exactly with the wearer's eyes.

Don't even get me started on a movable mouth. :lol

I'm also changing my mind on a "muscle suit" for the turtle's belly and chest - if you think about it, a turtle's belly isnt visible - that's a "plastron" that's attached to the turtle's shell. Kind of a shell but not really. It is attached to the shell on the back, however, along the sides(if you look at a turtle skeleton you can see the shell and plastron kinda form a "container" in which the turtle's body is sheltered). So I'm thinking of making the "plastron" part of the chest out of a stiff, rubbery sheet-like material cut to shape. How does that sound? I think just wearing a muscle suit without a plastron would make the turtle look, you know, kinda naked. :lol

Re: NINJA TURTLE SUITS

Well my friends and I are going to try and accomplish this. Using the great pictures given by Proximo, we have a general idea of how suits are made and the basic look of the suits.
Any idea on how shell is made and to connect it to the back of the suit?

Patrick, Im pretty sure you saw this when someone posted pics of a screen used head a while back that was on ebay.

But their is a small slit under the "puppets" eye, right under the colored fabric, there the actor sees out while wearing the head/helmet.

But when sculpting the mask, you would have to pin point where the wearers eyes are on the lifecast, and then sculpt it so he can see out, like they did in the movie.

Here, In case someone dont spot it.

I don't recall that actually. Interesting, I can't imagine how they could see out of those slits. I can barely even see them.
