Anyone Know about "Concealing" Furniture

Hey....I need a way to "hide" my costume...just so it looks cooler when it's hanging up.

Does anyone know about some type of furniture with secret compartments....nothing too big or expensive...Somewhere I can fit a leather jacket and pants...guantlets and a helmt

Do a search on bondage furniture. There are people who make S/M equipment that converts to normal looking stuff that can be out in the open in table or bookcase mode. Don't ask me how or why I know this!

there was a post here that had a link to a place that offered secret passageways and stuff for your home, they might have some ideas you could rip off and modify something yourself.

That gun cabinet is now calling to me, thanks a lot JCB. :whack

$860 for a hidden gun cabinet?!

seems awfully pricey for a piece of wood on a freakin hinge

I was thinking of a triple wardrobe with a mirror in the center and a door either side, when you open the doors it should look like the mirror is fixed (if you get the perspective right) but when you press the secret button the mirror slides out on rollers to reveal your suit.

like this sort of idea.

Re: Anyone Know about "Concealing" Furniture

I'll let yous guys in on a little secret.
I want to go a step further than just a secret cabinet and making a whole room.
I had a link on making a hidden door using a bookcase that you can do yourself, but I lost the link when my computer crashed a while back,so I can't really help ATM. It's been on my mind for about four months or so,but it'll take some time and money,so it'll be a while before I can actually do it. Maybe a year, maybe less, maybe more...who knows. This is a luxury and I have priorities that come first.
Anyway,my house is a three bedroom rancher with a full basement and attic.
It's a decent size house and I live here alone,so I have some space to move around.
One bedroom will have all my bat stuff. This room has a small 'inset' that a bookcase/drawer set fit perfectly into. It was designed for it. Hang a curtain or put a door on it and it's a fairly good size closet,if that makes any sense.
The bookcase is no longer there, but I'm gonna make false one that will conceal this, and of course able to be opened in some way.

Cut to the basement... My basement is full size, but has a concrete partition down the center and has three 'doorways' to go from one side to the other;one in the middle, two at equal, opposite ends. In the next couple of weeks, the back will be turned into a soundproof rehearsal room for my band, plus so I can play my drums when I want.
Going down the steps, this room will be immedietely on the left. Continuing foward,I will make a smaller lounge room with a couch, chairs for smoke breaks, etc.
Where this room will be is where one of the 'doorways' to the other side is. I will make a bookcase for this room to get through to the other side.
Left is the band room, foward is the lounge room, and right is my laundry room, that the middle concrete doorway leads to. In back of that is another room where the lounge room doorway connects.
I will close off a wall at the laundry room, and using what little sculpting skills I have will blend it with the concrete wall, making it look like that's the end of the basement.
Get where I'm going? Sealed off wall at laundry room, hidden bookcase entrance in the lounge room = secret room.

Let's go back upstairs for a minute.
My batroom. Not bathroom,BATroom. It is located directly above the secret room. In fact, the little cutout for the bookcase that's no longer there is at the far end of the room, centered between the walls.
I'll make another false bookcase in the batroom, cut a hole in the floor and maybe have a pole, but most likely a ladder.
With a ladder I can go up or down.

So,Bat room with all my bat toys with a hidden bookcase entrance to secrect cave below. I can either enter/exit by going up or down,or exit/enter through the lounge room.

I've told exactaly three people this because I really want it to be a secret room. :lol
The people I've told are very close friends and I trust them.
I don't mind telling all you guys because, first, you all 'get it' and understand, plus it's not like any of you are in and out of my house very often.
Oh yes,I will have a batcave.:wink
