Re: Anyone interested in a "V for Vendetta" mask?
Matt,
There is a "mesh" on the mouth. It is clearly seen in the scene where Evey kisses V. As for the lenses, I was assuming that there was a similar mesh on the eyes, like the "Scream" masks.
I should have gone with the DC direct masks, as they are more accurate, but if anything happened to them during the casting process, and it is broken, or injured beyond repair, I would be out $200.00 (at the VERY least,) and I don't have that kind of $$$ to take that chance with. Maybe someone else will. I agree that those are the most accurate masks, but unfortunately my production costs weren't that high.
Matt -
What is this doublet you are referring to? His jacket??? I am also working on one of these, and aside from finding the right fabric, I am hopefully well on my way. I have found a Civil War uniform pattern that can be modified SLIGHTLY, and I will hopefully have the same effect. We implement a Zipper instead of buttons, and a higher collar needs to be added, and maybe make the front come to a bit more of a point, and hopefully we're there.
I'll keep you guys informed on the status of the fiberglass mask.

Re: Anyone interested in a "V for Vendetta" mask?
LT,
the doublet is his jacket. As you obviously know V's costume is that of Guy Fawkes thus all the parts are inspired by that time era. His jacket is a slightly modified, updated take on a doublet. I doubt you will be able to find the fabric they used. I hae been told it was silk, but most likely a custom-made silk. Mine will probably just be a semi-shiney black material.

Re: Anyone interested in a "V for Vendetta" mask?
Looking at pictures of the jacket it looked to be a "basketweave" pattern all over it. The official V site has SEVERAL informative pictures, including one of the stunt guy with the collar of the jacket detail. My personal suit will be more of a comic/movie hybrid. My knives are like an "in between" of the comic knives, and the movie knives, and my wig us underturned like the comic wig, and my hat has a brim more similar to the comic suit than the movie suit. I have found a material similar to the material used on Neo's coat in The Matrix Reloaded, and that will probably be the material that I make my V jacket out of. Good stuff. Loving the discussion...

You could easily mold that mask without destroying it, no problem at all.
