Re: Leather cowl progress report : A good day for GA
I didn't exactly wt myself but I did feel both excitement and deep sadness when I saw this cowl. Excited because its by far the most inmrpessive work I have sen out of the many incredibly impressive things I've seen here. Sad because I honestly don't believe cowls can better that this...."and alexander wept for he had no more world to conquer".
its going to be the mona lisa of cowls.

Re: Leather cowl progress report : A good day for GA
I finally get to see this.:applaude
I've waited almost as long as GA here, and I must say bravo on the work so far completed.
If it takes another 3 years to get it to the point where you'll finally say "finished"...barring death as an excuse, I'll be waiting bro.
Great work.

I hate to hop on the "OMG it's tha shiznit" bandwagon, but I must say, that's an utterly incredible cowl. I had long shrugged off having a Batman costume, but your cowl honestly makes me feel as though I could actualy do it. Your cowl in itself is an inspiration for others
That's something to be damned proud of, man
Take a bow man, because that's what should be seen the movies

Re: Leather cowl progress report : A good day for GA
I just have to keep saying thanks for all the comments and etc here from everyone. These “milestone” moments are great, but they do mean it’s back to square one for me – refined sculpt, new forming molds to be made and all the rest. It can be a bit of a downer and the feedback at this point has been a real shot in the arm for me.
And Neon: If this inspires anyone to take a crack at a cowl then it’s only fair trade, the BOTB has been a constant source of inspiration and advice for me as I struggled along.
In case I didn’t mention it this time round, if anyone want’s to try the leather cowl thing – my poorly assembled often contradictory notes about the process are available, and I’m always happy to help via email.
While I’m here again – Q’s
Yes the neck moves, but pretty poorly, I made it too thick: V2 will be much more mobile. He says with confidence.
I can hear fine, the undershell is thinner over the ears – however the final version will have an earpiece and external mic. Not to mention a throat mike and a transmitter. And a secret compartment with a Batmobile in it.
