Spandexman Vs. Spandexwear Vs. Spandexoutfitters

Greetings All. First time poster, long time lurker.

I'm in the process of getting a cloth suit put together, and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with *both* SpandexMan and
SpandexWear (Graphica Designs).

Both look good, I'll be supplying my own (stolen) chest emblem (based on the Mattel figure design). Just looking for advice about customer service, value, and all that good stuff.

Many thanks in advance.

I use Spandexwear. I can't say anything about Spandexman. Spandexwear has done just about all of our spandex work, from my Ultimate X-Men stuff to all of my wives Blackcat costumes...she has 2 The customer service is top notch and she has never let us down.

Funny ...when I click on the "Spandexwear" link, my work computer blocks it citing "Adult Content."

Is there something you're not telling us, hmmmm? :raiseeybrow

Following that up, which is better: Spandexwear or Spandexoutfitters? I guess the woman from Spandexoutfitters left Graphica Designs (Spandexwear) to start her own company; I remember getting a weird email from Graphica when it happened, essentially stating that the woman (Valerie, I think) tried to steal customer information or something. I don't know if that's true or not, but Spandexoutfitters seems to have a more impressive superhero selection. Does anyone have the scoop on this?

those sites cater to certain "adult" aspects of play like "mummification" that's why your filter is blocking it. i'm not sure what the meta-tag list is on the site, but that's the reason.

I think that you will find that both are very similar. Afterall, they used to work together so technique and final product will be very similar from what I have seen.

Spandexwear has no trouble making anything that you want. I think they choose to not list a bunch of superhero costumes on their site for copyright violation issues.

Graphica I believe did more with that initially because they had a customer base for such. I know several people who have done business with both and are very happy.

You can always send a photo/pic of what you want made and get price quotes from both.

I actually got a grey unitard from Spandexman & I have to say that it is very nice. I did not get the one with the bat already sewn on it, I got the plain one so I could change out the emblem for whatever look I want. The only thing I'd change about the suit is that it is kind of shiny. I'd like one that has a flatter look to it. But, I thought it was a pretty good price.

That's interesting. How do you switch them out?

Well, I've been making the different "black bat" type of emblems out of self-adhesive craft foam, plasti-dipping them, & then just sticking them on. As long as you're not doing any real strenuous moves, it should be OK. They stay on pretty well - so far so good - & they peel right off when you're done. I just stick them on a piece of wax paper after they're done being used. This way, I can use whichever emblem I want at whichever time I want.

I'm planning on making a couple out of leather & using double sided tape to stick it on - we'll see how that works. I'm experimenting with a couple other things that I haven't quite worked out the kinks on & will post more about that when I arrive at a solution. The other thing I do is use the "cowl mounted" oval emblems - attaching the emblems *('89, Returns, Comic, or Panther) to the cowl with velcro.
