High Density Foam

Where can I find some? I have looked in places like Wally World, Jo-Ann's Michaels and so on but they have only what I would call "medium-density".

The stuff I am looking for is very stiff with almost no give to it at all. It is like what they use in pads for sports and to cushion laptops in the better cases you find.

Help! :help

Maybe contact an upholstery shop and see if they'll sell you some.

Re: High Density Foam

Well, the type of foam I am looking for isn't used in furniture.

Thanks though.

I have what they use in seat cushions but it isn't what I am looking for. This stuff is so hard you can't really squeeze it together with your fingers. The stuff I have is about 1/2" thick but can be squeezed easily.

This is my unicorn I think....

Rick, just a thought... if they can't sell you some, perhaps they can at least tell you what it's called, what it's used for, and where to get it. They've got a better shot at knowing than most other people you'll talk to.

Good idea. Many of the shops around here are still digging out. I will try to call them asap. The only problem is places are hard to find unless I go to Tampa or Orlando. (and that's long distance!!)

Where can you get that? UPS store? I am looking at doing a muscle suit. I know that some people use different stuff but this is what I want.

BTW I did find the type of foam I want at Michaels. They have these generic foam fingers that people use at football games and the like that are made from this.

Picture "foamy" but only 1/2-1" thick.

Re: High Density Foam

oh you want something different than i refer to as high-density foam then. I've used the hi-dens stuff for muscle suits before. it allows for breathability. what you want from your description is a closed cell EVA foam. I've used this mainly for heads and feet. it can get pricey per sheet. the company i worked for was lucky enough to find a local supplier that dealt in packing foam. oh, btw, i doubt the UPS store will have it. locally check under foam the the yellow pages and ask for a closed-cell foam. or if you want it shipped, i'll give you a source noone has mentioned yet, to my knowledge. guess we're all keeping it out "little secret". go here Foam Mart
they have everthing you want.
