What I do for cleaning is just put a little lukewarm water in the bathtub, add a little mild detergent (like Woolite), hand wash, rinse thoroughly, & hang to dry. So far it has worked great! The latex armor & glue seems to be completely unaffected by it. I just towel dry the armor & let the suit air dry.nondisclosed_email@example.com (KnightStix)Sun, 14 Aug 2005 17:53:24 +0000 Re: Attaching armor...Updatehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784061,from=rss#post1784061https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784061,from=rss#post1784061Could you use the blue masking tape to hold the armor on while the glue sets? You can get it in various widths, it's the kind where you can leave it on for 7 days and it won't peel up the paint. It might work out okay for holding on the armor and not leaving any residue... -Rex  :signal nondisclosed_email@example.com (Bountys Hunted)Sun, 14 Aug 2005 14:23:30 +0000 Re: Attaching armor...Updatehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784060,from=rss#post1784060https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784060,from=rss#post1784060LOL...Crap,,,,, Uhm...That explains the heat...LOL.. I wrapped myself in saran wrap. I put on the diveskin, put on the chest and cowl and marked out the upper body. Slapped on a bunch of DAP in the red can on the armor and on the diveskin ( Then stood outside so I didnt get too much of a buzz) waited 15 minutes then slid on the armor and had my wife press it into place. Wrapped it with ropes to hold it in place while it bonded. Then I waited an hour and slid it off and I am now going around the edges with Bondini everything gel. Word of caution...Make sure you cever all your skin with saran wrap. If not, the parts of the skin it hits gets real hot for the first 5 to 10 minutes. Then you just have to stand there and feel the burn or get out. I just took the pain and got it done..:) Now I have to trim up the bottoms..Suit up and do it again...nondisclosed_email@example.com (gburau)Sun, 14 Aug 2005 12:02:16 +0000 Re: Attaching armorhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784057,from=rss#post1784057https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784057,from=rss#post1784057When glueing the armor onto wetsuit/lycra, you wanna hold still for an least an hour before take it off. It really does require quite a bit of patience on your part. It's gonna be hot, and there'll be heat generated from the glue - so do this in a ventilated room and preferably in front of a huge fan (or two). Do you use airconditioning or the smell of the glue will get to you. If you're doing on lycra/spandex, make sure you saran wrap/clingwrap your body, arms, and thighs. Trust me on this - I had chemical burns on the inside of my thighs. As for the stinkiness after wearing, hang up your suit and generously powder the inside of your suit - to soak up the sweat and the smell. You can always use all sorts of sprays for it, but nothing beats a good airing. Use the sprays after the airing. Air it for a day, and out of direct sun. To minimize the onset of stinkiness in the suit, wear a tshirt inside. It WILL be completely drenched - better the tshirt then the suit.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Marquisio)Sat, 13 Aug 2005 03:14:00 +0000 Re: Attaching armorhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784056,from=rss#post1784056https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784056,from=rss#post1784056There is always Febreeze spray The bachelors equilivent of a washing machine! http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0006M671I/qid=1123916172/sr=8-2/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-0128189-9648660?v=glance&s=hi&n=507846nondisclosed_email@example.com (paradox22)Sat, 13 Aug 2005 01:57:03 +0000 Re: Attaching armorhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784055,from=rss#post1784055https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784055,from=rss#post1784055yelp! i bondini'd the black elastic straps to inside sides of the 1 piece chest/bicep armor. (Armor onto lycra, not wetsuit though, but method is the same.) [1] Wear your wetsuit. [2] Get friend. [3] Place armor on your body. Get the position right. [4] Mark out with tailor's chalk the chest, legs and kneecaps. [5] Get ready glue. [6] Stay in your wetsuit, apply GENEROUSLY on the inside of your armor, leaving a gap of one inch from the edges. [7] Stand very still and upright, get friend to press the armor on onto your suit. [8] Keep pressing the armor onto suit for an hour. Which means you can't sit down. Just bear with it. [9] Use towels or belts to bind the armor to your suit, or your friend will be tired of pressing it against you for an hour. [10] Repeat process for your leg armor. [11] Come back 24 hours later, and apply the same glue around the edges. [12] Done. Now go out and kick-ass. Do not gain weight or anything, 'cause you won't fit it again. Do not lose too much weight either, or it won't fit nicely as well. I lost quite a bit of weight lately, trying to prepare myself for the spidey suit. Now the bat belt is too loose. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Marquisio)Fri, 12 Aug 2005 03:06:15 +0000 Re: Attaching armorhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784048,from=rss#post1784048https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784048,from=rss#post1784048hi no ,first put armour on ,then cowl ( to made sure logo was in correct position. pin armour to suit ,marked around armour with taylors chalk then i filled the wetsuit out to my measurements applied glue to suit and amour left it for 5 mins then placed armour on suit making sure it matched marking then went a round edge with the tube of neoprene glue ( the bostik glue gets stronger as it goes of had to leave over night any help i can give i will see my costume   http://photobucket.com/albums/y85/camobat/?multi=1&addtype= nondisclosed_email@example.com (camo2)Thu, 11 Aug 2005 11:32:14 +0000 Re: Attaching armorhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784047,from=rss#post1784047https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1784047,from=rss#post1784047Camo, Thanks for the response. What is the best adhesive to use for gluing my armor onto my wetsuit? Bondini? DAP? Advice? Also, I have read all the archives and no one ever really says where exactly to start? I thought I read somewhere to mark it on the wetsuit. Cover the inside of the chest piece then slip it on and press. But now I read more about just gluing 1 to 2 inches in? Also, if I wear it and do the 1 to 2 inches in, should I attach the back first? This was may thought...The back, then the stomach, then the ribs, chest and arms? Does this sound right...
