89 Belt Information
Ok, this is probably a topic for arguement, but has anyone else seen the yellow belt that Keaton wore??? I've seen a few pics of him wearing a yellow belt, not the gold belt that buckles. The main place I've seen the yellow is on the standee. My assumption is that the yellow one is a stunt belt cause looking at my standee, the buckle is crooked and there is no like down the middle. Anyone care to share info on the different belts (Janty I'm looking in your direction :beatup )???

Re: 89 Belts...
Well when Bates was working for Bob Ringwood on the first X-men movie, he gave him one of the 89 clipping buckles to strip the gold paint off of, because they were going to use it as referance for making the X-men buckles. So the real one was definetely gold. I think the one that I have and the one Keaton is wearing in the standee (which I own also) is a stunt belt version that didn't open in the front and was probably just thrown on him for that picture.
I did just get a real urethane casting of the 89 buckle from my friend recently, which has the line going down the middle. It is the exact size of the buckle that is currently what I make, but the main difference is the line going down the middle (not to mention being super clean and sharp).
I've also seen pictures when Chris was working at the Deja Vu Gallery (place with signed photos of stars and posters) with Keaton wearing a very, very dark brass colored belt that was never used in the movie. So I'm guessing they took a bunch of early pictures of him wearing all kinds of different stuff, until they got it right. It is just a guess though.

Re: 89 Belts...
ok, while were on the 89 subject
whats the story with the variation between the two I show here
top one is movie accurate I bet when compared to the movie stills
the buttom one has the extra ribbing ontop of the regular movie band, looked at both 89 and return stills and they seem to be the same belt in width
I prefer the bottom one.... so wondering...
since Im not 89 knowledgeable
and I believe the bottom pic if from the personal collection of brin
infact....think I'll email and ask if he doesnt see this, sure Im not the first to notice

Re: 89 Belts...
The wider one was sculpted by (if I'm incorrect, correct me) RJ collectables. It was for taller/bigger suit wearers.

I've also noticed belts that look yellow in some photos. I have a couple ideas.
A. As was stated before, there could have been several belts that they tested to see which one looked better on film.
B. I could be totally wrong here but to me it seems that some promo pics were done at a REALLY bright exposure. Some of the pics of the Joker his face is so white it glows. He he. That may explain the yellow belt. Hard to say though ubless you were there.

Re: 89 Belts...
I'm not sure what filters they were using for the shoot but that belt in 89 looks like its yellow with a green gold hue to it.
If you look back at the post about 89 suit pics, you can see that the belt from the movie book and the belt on display in the pics of the real suit in the case are for sure yellow. I always heard from guys at the shop that the only straight gold belt was in Returns. Would love to have more info if this is not the case.
