Re: NEED OPINIONS ON ADDING STUFF TO MY CUSTOM UTILITY BELT!!!
7 inches does seem kinda long doesn't it...well i was looking around the house and i wandered into my wifes part of the dresser where she keeps all her beauty products, and came across four capsules that are all approx 4.5 inches long with a screw on flat top on one end. Right now they're clear capsules with bath gels and aroma therapy stuff in them now, but by tomorrow they will be silver capsules attached to my belt. I'm going to go out to the hobby shop tomorrow buy some crome-colored hobby spray paints to use on the capsules and then i'll attached them to the belt with the velcro strips. Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll hopefully have pics posted by tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck!!

If you want something a bit more permanant than velcro, you can always use epoxy, or even use small screws to screw them in through the back of the belt.

Re: NEED OPINIONS ON ADDING STUFF TO MY CUSTOM UTILITY BELT!!!
Those longer cigar tubes would work for a belt I'm making. The Pouches need to be larger for them to look right. For fututre ideas of mounting those I would suggest heading to a military surplus store and getting some replace ment metal clips for ammo pouches. They are cheap and easily attatchable to the metal cigar tubes with JB Weld.
Short tutorial:
If you plan on them for just apperence.
1. drill small holes in a straight line on one side of cigar tube. (lenth of clip)
2. Score the area in the same line in which the holes were drilled.
3. Mix the JB weld and roll into a small worm shape ( length of the drilled holes )
4. press JB weld over the scored area. Allowing the Jb weld to enter the holes. blend the edges in.
5. press the metal clip into the JB weld ( make sure it will still open to attatch to belt)
make as many as you disire for the belt.
Idea with the tubes add pouches from Rothco
and alternate the pouch then tube and so on.
either of these pouches will work

http://www.rothco.com/general/index.cfm?fuseaction=itemdetail&item=1612&subcat=193&prodid=112&from=left
even if the tubes are chrome and the pouches are black it will give it a very effective look to any Hybrid bat suit or for that matter any Super hero utility belt

Looks very good.
I like the M&M minis tubes for belts, and they can hold so much.
