Clooney Kevlar® Cowl - Pics
Janty’s done it again, Bros! First, there’s a photo of 1/8” thick epoxy-Kevlar® armor elements, fastened to the outside of a Sonar cowl, just to show shapes and placement. The Kevlar elements are 1/8” thick. The second pic is of an electronic listener, mounted in one bat ear, with the inside mic at a temple vent and a tiny earphone near the human ear. And then there are three pics of Janty’s new Clooney cowl with the armor and listening device installed – also with air vents cut in by this functioneering heretic.
Thanks, Janty, you ARE the man!

Re: JANTY’S NEW CLOONEY-KEVLAR® COWL!
You are the man for functionality. That is original in the since that you can say it works and if he where out there this is what he'd look like. Which is still BATMAN.
Keep the reality of a true Batman going.
Keith

I'm grateful to you Keith, more than you know. It's your kind of spirit fuel that keeps our passion for realism burning -- just like the genuine toughness of your Batman Dead End.

Wow! Excellent.
Now you can exchange messages back to "Oracle" in the cave! :wink
--- Hee hee. "Get her." That was your whole plan. I like it; it was scientific.

Re: JANTY’S NEW CLOONEY-KEVLAR® COWL!
Thanks for the kind words Zane. I wish I would have made the cowl a little thicker where you installed the kevlar elements, that way the cowl wouldn't look dented and deformed the way it does in the pics. But when you're wearing it, it looks fine. But just for the record, my Clooney cowls are very smooth and are not dented.
Hanging with Zane has made me want to experiment with this stuff some more. Just so I can make a functional Batsuit, NOT FOR FIGHTING CRIME. :rollin I'm going to run off a rubber muscle suit, with kevlar backing each ab, each pectoral muscle, each leg muscle and other areas with vital organs behind them, than back that with more latex. This way, it will be a rubber suit, but inside each muscles will be some kevlar. Very flexible and more like what Batman would probably use. I know, I know I used to be one of the guys who didn't understand why anybody would want to do this, but Zane has made my experimenting side come out.

Re: JANTY’S NEW CLOONEY-KEVLAR® COWL!
Nomad202: The listener is simply a midget electronic amplifier. Nestled inside the white fitting at the bottom of the listener is a slide switch for turning the unit on and off (exposed inside the cowl where the bat ear opens to the cranial area). The little mic at the top of the photo picks up sounds, the CPU amplifies them and feeds to the mini-earphone. Janty had fun playing with the device, eavesdropping on sounds in the next room.
Janty: Yeah bro, we were both limited by using exact specs of the Clooney cowl. For fully functional purposes, it could be larger, both in the cranial and neck areas. Then it could be built thicker and also be completely bulge and dent proof. It's a small miracle that everything was crammed into it, while still being comfortably wearable.
It's fabulous that Jants is willing to reinforce with Kevlar -- a giant leap in BOTB suit development, and by such a talent!
:cheers
