Repainted Panther Emblem - Pics Pg. 2
I have a Panther emblem i traded for whit one of the Brothers here, But the color is in bad condition so i want to paint it over, I have sanded it down just need some tips how to paint it.
Masking tape seems to be a good way but i want the surface to be perfect whit no marks from the tape, I tryed this once before on a emblem i have and the side ring color came off even do it was dry and cured for a week before i masked it.
Thx in advance for any help:cheers

Re: Best way to repaint a Panther emblem?
It was a 3 piece but the plate had the ring glued on but i didnt wanna take it off just for a repaint, i took off the floating bat do, and sanded it, plus the plate.
Thx for the help.

Re: Best way to repaint a Panther emblem?
FYI, the ring and Bat for the on-screen Panther emblems were a dark metallic charcoal, and the background field was metallic brass.

Re: Best way to repaint a Panther emblem?
You can find it. They sell spray paint in Sweden too.
I don't know the exact color other than it being brass, but look for a dark antique gold, darker brass or something like that.
Even if it isn't exact,it's better than yellow.

Re: Best way to repaint a Panther emblem?
Test it on a piece of cardboard and see what it looks like. It should be a dark brass like color, but even gold is better than yellow. Dark gold probably wouldn't look bad.
The point is no matter what it is,it's better than yellow. :lol

Re: Best way to repaint a Panther emblem?
After painting it with that gold, let it fully dry over-night, then hit it with a layer of matte-finish. That will mimic the brassy look of the Panther emblem.
The screen one, as Tony was saying, had EM black mica mixed into the resin for the ring and bat, black mica has a metallic charcoalish look to it. The goldish background of the real one was done with the same EM powders used for the Sonar belt bat and the Robin gold/brass colors.
