Some pour the entire thing in Black then pour the yellow into it. Some make it 2 pieces, Pour the Black then make a yellow insert that fits perfectly into the emblem, some pour a black bat and a black ring them make a backplate and glue the ring and bat to it. What I do is pour the plack bat and ring, leave it in the mold then pour the yellow back plate after the black hardens. Then I paint the outside edge of the yellow with a model paint pen. This way is tricky because if you overpour the black part you wind up with scrap. OY. Good luck Bro. nondisclosed_email@example.com (efarrell4)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 21:22:24 +0000 Re: question? on mold paitinghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797575,from=rss#post1797575https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797575,from=rss#post1797575well my question is this. you guys have batman emblems like the 89 emblem it has 2 colors yellow and black but when you have a silicon mold of a 89 emblem what do you do to saperate the colors. do you pour the black resin first and then the yellow. or do you paint the mold yellow and let dray and then por black resin? or do you paint the mold what gos black, black and the yellow ,yellow and then pour resin en let the resin dry and stik to the paint? o and if i paint the mold what tipe of paint wold i use? thanks you guys for your help nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 18:04:29 +0000 Re: question? on mold paitinghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797574,from=rss#post1797574https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797574,from=rss#post1797574BJB Enterprises has a full line of resins and tints that get mixed with them. For an 89 you'll want black tint and Medium Chrome yellow (i think that's what I use). Here's their site http://www.bjbenterprises.com/ The tints are expensive but worth it. nondisclosed_email@example.com (efarrell4)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 17:53:09 +0000 Re: question? on mold paitinghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797573,from=rss#post1797573https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797573,from=rss#post1797573you can just pour the resin in if you want a solid piece or use a disposable brush if you want a "hollow" piece.nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatDemon)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 17:05:19 +0000 Re: question? on mold paitinghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797572,from=rss#post1797572https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797572,from=rss#post1797572Relax, it's always slow on the weekend.  :cookoo Try to be more clear on your question though, because I don't understand what you mean. nondisclosed_email@example.com (DevilInThePaleMoonlight)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 14:44:47 +0000 Re: question? on mold paitinghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797571,from=rss#post1797571https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797571,from=rss#post1797571come on you guys some help please enybody?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 11:55:04 +0000 Coloring Resinhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797570,from=rss#post1797570https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797570,from=rss#post1797570first time casting so dont make fun of me ok i have the mold of a 89 emblem that i made out of wood but how do i get the paint in the resin when i cast it o and the mold is made out of silicon thanks to all that help me the mexicanbat :help nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mexicanbat)Sun, 04 Apr 2004 01:09:59 +0000
