Painting an Emblem Yellow & Black - Pics & Instructions

Steps made possible by janty and this is how it turned out.

"If you want it to look like it was molded in the proper colors, what I have done in the past is, paint the whole emblem yellow first. Let it fully cure for about a day, then spray the whole thing down with Matte Finish by Krylon.

Next, use some oil based soft clay and clay the whole backplate, around the Bat right up to the lines, covering the whole back plate completely. The only thing that will be visible when you are finished is the ring and the Bat.

Next, paint it black with Krylon Fusion (WalMart). Let it cure for a whole day, followed by one more layer of Matte Finish.

After it is cured, remove the clay with a popsyckle stick until most of it is gone, then you can scrub the rest of the clay away with a sponge and some warm water.

Since the clay was covering the backplate, it will be yellow and the Bat and ring will be black. The reason for the Matte Finish is it gives it the accurate look of poured resin, instead of shiny paint. It's too complicated to mask off the bat, mask off the plate and you'll be set."

And at the end of it all I had to use a fine tip paint brush and out line the bat and the rim to make more fine around.
