Making Pleather Glove Fins
Hi, I am working on my gloves tonight and wondered if I could get a few suggestions?
First, what I am doing is taking a pair of insulated leather biker gloves and some pleather from a craft store. To lengthen the glove I am sewing the pleather around the wrist of the leather gloves. Now I was thinking of cutting out either cardboard or foamboard fins and cutting pleather to match so that I can just fit the board into the pleather and sew the fins to the glove.
Am I making sense? Any suggestions. The fins will be cut out to look like the dead end fins.
Thanks for any comments or suggestions :cheers

Re: pleather glove fins
I just finished mine last night and did them the same way (actually my brother's gf did the sewing and we made the whole glove out of pleather) I made the design of the fins on cardboard and then 2 on the pleather, one for each side to cover the fin made of cardboard (remember one has to be backward) the made a sandwich with all three and sew around the cardboard piece, cut whatever edge was outside the sewing and then sew it to the glove. I'll take a picture and post it in a couple of minutes

Re: pleather glove fins
Slash those turned out really nice! I really like them. I plan on doing a pair of my own for my next project, I should be lucky if they turn out half as good. Nice job there!!
greensentinel7..best of luck on your gloves. Do let us know how they turn out and post pics, if you can. :)

Re: pleather glove fins
Slash, those are some excellent looking comic style gloves man!!! I'm really impressed with them.
Is it me, or did you manage to get the angled cut at the glove opening?

Re: pleather glove fins
Slash -excellent gloves! I've been struggling with glove making for a while now and nothing I've done has turned out near that nice. Great fins!
Where did you get the pattern and how flexible is the thumb?
