Personally, I think that working at a smaller scale like that would be much more difficult than full size. As I see it

Very cool idea, Bro! Can't say as I've seen anyone else do that...at least not that I can think of right off. I'd definitely love to see you try at a 1:1 scale version of it too!

Re: 89 BATMAN COSTUME CLAY SCULPT....FOR ACTION FIGURE

Thanks Everyone!!! emoticon

Having support and encouragement from Brothers gives me the POWER to move on!!

Honestly, I don't like sculpting, it is not a thing to enjoy, sometimes I got desperate when the sculpting doesn't turns out well as I expected. Sculpting this head took me three weeks and I don't have enough sleep, also I just found out that sculpting a real human face is even more difficult than I thought. Personally I think this head is only O.K., maybe just pass, but that is the best I can do with my ablity, hope you all like it.

I really hope the final thing turns out good in the end, and I hope this thread can be qualified to moved to the BOTB Archives someday!! :lol

The most difficult part to make this figure is to think before I sculpt because I have to make sure that this costume I made is really work on the action figure body, for example, I have to add clay on the resin Keaton's head to sculpt the Cowl (so the cowl can fit on perfectly), but how can I pull out the resin head after finish sculpting the Cowl but without breaking or damaging the clay sculpt of the Cowl? This is a example what I have to think before I sculpt.

Lucky I have got a DAVIDYR1 89 Batsuit for reference and that really helps. (David, your 89 suit is amazing :up )

Hey DT and Bathound,

Blackwood Bat says that you guys have made similar figures like this, can you email me some pics of your work? I am just new on BOTB, so I haven't seen them before and I really love to see them. Thanks!!:bounce

My email : henry11@netvigator.com

Hey Janty,
Can't wait to get my Panther Suit from you!! :bounce
If this figure turns out good, my next project will be making the Batman Forever action figure and I will make it base on your suit as reference. I think this is funny and interesting to see a mini size Janty Panther suit!! :lol :lol :lol

Thanks again EVERYONE!!

Bros who are interested in this thread please check this thread 10 to 14 days, I will have something new on my prgress post. Thanks!!

Just OK my Hinney. Dude it is KICK A$$. just know that. After the head is done in the clay and you make the silicone mold, make two heads in resin. One you can sculpt on and the other for an extra. What were you thinking of makeing the cowl out of When you are done?

Just an Idea here ( what I would do ) Make a full keaton head ( which you've done) then make a seperate Batman head the Keaton face will still be visible and after you have sculpted the cowl recast the whole head and make Bat's head in resin make the head to be interchangable.

The only heads that I ever actually did any sculpting on were my Mego 8" Hobgoblin and Ghost Rider and the occasional set of bat ears.
I did however make the majority (95%) of the suits.
You can check them out here:

Personally...I like the 12" figs way better than the 8"

Oops...oh yeah, there's always THIS good looking fella and a few of his friends that I did.emoticon

Re: 89 BATMAN COSTUME CLAY SCULPT....FOR ACTION FIGURE

Hey batmakko,

Sorry, I forgot to mention what material I am going to use for this figure.
I am planning to make the Keaton's head and the Cowl with soft vinyl material, so the figure head can tuck into the Cowl and vice versa you can pull out the Cowl from the figure head to reveal his head, just a little gimmick. :lol For the body and legs armour, I am planning to use a more softer soft vinyl material so that the figure can move better and will give you a feeling that it is wearing a muscule suit like seen in the movie. (Hope this works!!)
Thanks for your ideas and your nice words bros!!emoticon

Hey DT,

Thanks for the pics, your work is amazing!! Wonderful!! Great!!:suprise
I hope my figure turns out as good as yours.
After seeing your works, I think I need to work more harder. :banghead :lol

Thanks Bros!!
