Re: MY 89 BATMAN ACTION FIGURE......TEST SHOT PICS!!!!!

This truly is impressive.

From first sculpt, to working and reworking the pieces....trying to get them right....the wetsuit....all the elements to fit together....and now seeing it complete is pretty much one of the coolest projects I've ever seen done.

Not only does it look beautiful, but it's functional too!!!!

I tip my hat here..... emoticon emoticon emoticon

I will proudly display this beside my own suit.
Job well done Henry!

David

Wow. emoticon

I can't say anything that everyone else has already said, at this point.

Except...

I'll pay just about any sum of money in order to get one.

Or twelve! :)

Re: MY 89 BATMAN ACTION FIGURE......TEST SHOT PICS!!!!!

Thanks a lot Everyone!! emoticon
I really need to say "Thank You" to you all, without support and encouragement from BOTB Bros and Sis, I can never get this 89 Figure done!! :hug

When I first planned to make this 89 Batman Figure, my aim is to make it look like a real person wearing a Bat Suit, I have no experience in making something like this before, so everything is just based on theory. I was as anxious as most of you to see the test shot from the vinyl factory cause until that moment came I still don't know if my theory of making a miniature Bat Suit really will work on a action figure body or this project is just a failure. Fortunately, the results turns out fine and everything really did work!! :bounce

There have been times I need to make choices. For example, should I make this figure moves very well or should I make it to have a screen accurate look but doesn't moves too freely? If I make it moves well, I have to make a loose undersuit and a bigger size body armour and legs armour for it, but if I do so then the whole thing will looks bumpy, so I decided to make it to have a screen accurate look, I hope you all will like it this way. :p

The hardest part in making this 89 Figure is to calculate the shrinkage when making the vinyl parts for this 89 Figure. From clay to silcone molding, silcone molding to wax protitype, wax prototype to copper moldings, copper moldings to vinyl parts, each of these process has a little percentage of shrinkage and some minor details were lost after all these processes (like the skin textures of the Keaton's head is lost:frown). Still I think the vinyl factory have already done a great job for me and the final product is as close as to 90% of my original clay sculpting, :up and I really appreciate their help for making my dream comes true!! :lol

Jediweapon, Gonzalo, Belmont Bat and BlackMan:

Thanks for your nice words Bros!!emoticon

Blackwood Bat:

Thanks John!! Your Begins Figure is amazing too!! :up :up Like Tim has said, I would love to see you enter this contest too: http://www.customoftheyear.com/custom.howtoenter.html :bounce

TheKingaSwing:

Thanks Nathan!! I think I will have all of my 89 Figures ready to ship before the end of Febuary. :wink

BatManTheDarkKnight and BigBadBat:

I will email both of you shortly. :wink

DarkKnightDaveyo:

Thanks for your nice words Daveyo!! :hug I don't know how to paint this Keaton's head cause I am never good at painting a real human face (though I am pretty good at painting tanks and Star Wars models), I don't even have the slightest idea on how to mix human skin colors. If I am going to paint this head, sure it will look like crap!! :rollin Trust me on this!! :lol

NewBat, Luke Roberts and Escapist:

Thanks Bros!!emoticon

The BlackBat:

Thanks Tim!!emoticon
I would love to enter the contest but today is already the deadline and I am not able to get my 89 Figure done. The cape I have made for this figure is too short and I will need to make a longer one for it, besides, the vinyl factory have still not giving me back my mini 89 Emblem... sorry about this. But I will enter next year contest with my Batman Returns Action Figure!! :up

KnightStix:

Thanks for your nice words Bro!! And thanks again for being here with me from the start to finish of the 89 Figure. :hug

My question to all of the rest of us is: how much higher can the "bar" be raised?

This is a very good question, I was thinking about this too!! One thing I was wondering is it is possible to make miniature Bat Suit with Latex or Urethane? And is it possible to make a miniature Cowl with Flesh material or Latex? Maybe some costumes expert Bros like David, Jants or Artsee1 can chime in and give us some answers. :bounce

Klocket:

Thanks for your nice words and patience Mike!! :cheers I promise I will ship your 89 Figure to you ASAP once I have them on hands. :up

Cursedbat:

Sorry Bro!! I am a little busy recently, I will reply your mail shortly. emoticon

Lujho and DevilInThePaleMoonlight:

Thanks Bros!! Glad you both like the end result!! :lol

DAVIDYR1:

Thanks my friend!! :hug Your 89 Bat Suit has inspire me and helped me a lot in making this Figure. It is my honour to know that you will display my 89 Figure next to your Bat Suit. I love your work on your Begins Suit, I really hope someday I can make a Begins Action Figure based on your Begins Suit!! :lol

EchoSix and Broadway204:

Thanks for your nice words Bros!! emoticon

Thanks again everyone!! I will post pics of the final product when I have them on hands!! :soon
