Cowl Display Ideas

Anyone know any cheap ways to display cowls? So far what I have done is....
taken one 2 liter coke bottle and wraped and taped it in news paper. Then I spray painted the entire thing black. I have one cowl on that but its really not tall enough. The bottom of the cowl sits on the table.
I have my BRIN cowl on a vase and my Rubies on an old trumpet stand I don't use ( I quit trumpet in highschool).
I found this. What do you all think?

Any other ideas :huh

Re: display ideas

funny you should start this thread, i was just about to share my newest display set up.

For cowls i get styrofoam balls and cones attach the 2 with a dowel rod. I then cover it with some sort of black material to finish filling it out. Also for anyone looking for a way to display your suit (or half of it) i finally came up with this. I had one of those hanging half body mannequins, i stacked 3 milk crates, covered them in black material, used bricks to anchor the mannequin down and attached all the pieces.

This is the end result:

I use paper towel holders with styrofoam ball hemispheres. Works great!

I just used a 2 liter bottle, cut some redwood 2x2's to make a 'plus' shape, stick some threaded rod through the center of the plus and the bottle lengthwise, bolt it down, and there, I have my own cowl stand.

There's a multitude of things that you could use. Soon everything you see will turn into a mask stand.
Old lamps, plungers, paper towel holders.
For musicians...old microphone stands.
Lot's of things.:wink

I got one of those Everlast inflatable desktop punching bags with the big suction cup on the bottom on sale at Sports Chalet. It's black and holds up well during earthquakes too!
