Re: Shiney/Dull dilemma w/Plasti-Dip - Anyone experience this??

Hey KnightSix, fellow Floridian! On humid days you really have to change how, where, and when you spray otherwise things will get screwed up.

You know how humid it gets here. On those days sometimes it seems like the layers of paint (or in this case Plasti-dip) will be ready for another coat but it is misleading. I have had problems like yours with all sorts of painting.

Florida sucks for painting!!! No two ways about it.

I have had a great paintjob going fantastic and then WHAMMO! it gets humid (usually right before the rains!!) and the job gets ruined. It is what kept me from painting a helmet I was working on. (I still to this day don't have it done!!)

Take your time and watch the weather!!

Yep, it's the humidity.
BTW...If you used Armor-all on that glove, you'll need to strip it with some mineral spirits, or it'll peel a gain.

No worries Brin... I stripped it again with acetone & then gave it a rub down with de-natured alcohol. After this, I washed it thoroughly with dawn dish soap & water. I think it's pretty well rid of the armor all residue. So far, its holding up great. We'll see if it stands the test of time...
