Morris Forever Robin Suit - Opinions
Are they really that bad?
I'm been toying with the idea of getting one (as they are dirt cheap on ebay at the moment) and padding it out and customising it.
Am I being stupid here or is a viable idea?
Cheers
Nick

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
Whatever you spend on the costume is more than likely less than you'll spend to fix it up.
If that seems worth it to you, go ahead.
I'd never buy one of those pieces of junk no matter how cheap they were. Especially with the quality of work out there now.
But, hey that's just me. :wink

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
If they are anything like the Batman and Robin Clooney suits, then it'll be awful. I bought one of the B&R Batman suits off of e-bay for $85 & I feel like that was too much to pay for this piece of junk. I thought the same thing - that it couldn't be that bad... Yes, it can - and it is. I figured that I would fix it up & use it, but for the amount of time & expense you'll put into it, you may just want to get some nice pieces from some of the bros here. Since I already have one, I may go ahead & try to fix it up, but I'm not sure, since I've been able to pick up some nicer stuff along the way. If you just want the experience of fixing it up & enjoy that sort of thing, then go ahead. But, if you're the type of person that gets ticked off when you've been sold a load of crud for your hard earned money, then stay away. When I first started with fixing up the licensed stuff, someone said that it was the equivalent of trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Another was a little more graphic & said it was like trying to polish a turd... I did have some success fixing up some Morris gloves, but that was comparatively small when it comes to fixing up the whole chest piece, legs, etc. Just food for thought...

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
Well im new here but figured id give my .02, I also got the B&R batman suit and since there both rubies i figure there pretty simular, but anyway its a lot of work. I think i did the best i could with it.The main problem with them i see is there made to fit everyone, so the gloves were enormously big and floppy etc. Plus the latex seems to have its fair share of defects, being mass produced and all.
I since replaced the crappy satin cape with a Mellos and am looking for a new cowl, but if you put some good work into em they can look like this
i guess (assuming that you think mines any good :ohwell ) Any way heres mine if it helps at all...

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
I have both the B&R Batman and the Robin suit.
I would have to say both are crap. The Robin suit is better (just the chest piece) both of the gloves are crap and have since ripped (bad latex) and don't even get me started on the batman cowl!
This is my brother and I at the mall in the B&R suits. I am Robin.

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
The one I was thinking of was this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80915&item=5526252887&rd=1
I don't think it's a Rubies.
I really only wanted to make the chest and leg armor look decent, but I think I may scout around in the next few months for decent armor and convert it.
Thanks for all your views

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
I have one of these suits and freaking love it, I'm told that I had a good pull(meaning the sculpt was well defined in my copy), I customized it replacing a couple of things(boots especially and gloves) and it came out decent, this is back in 95, 96. The one they are offering does not have the cod piece I notice. Good luck.

Re: Morris Forever Robin suit
I've got a FULL Rubies "Forever" Robin that I'd be willing to part with if you haven't scored one by now.
