Catwoman Stitching on Rubber Suit
I am building a Batman Returns cat suit for my girlfriend and have bought a rubber catsuit for the base. Obviously I cannot use normal stitches on a rubber suit without ruining the integrity and having it fall apart on me.
The approaches I have thought of for getting around this are:
1. Buy a sheet of white rubber and cut it into 'stiches'. These can then be fitted individually to the suit using an appropriate adhesive. This is similar to the licenses catmask effect.
2. Similar to one but instead of rubber use some type of thick white thread - but this might fray.
3. Get strips of black rubber and make the stitches on those. Then attach the strips to the suit.
4. Paint the stitches on. This is my least fav option as there is no texture to the stitches.
If anyone has any more ideas I would be grateful of the input.

Re: catwoman stitching on rubber suit
there's a project type of thread in the craft section at walmart that is made of a plastic type of matertial (like pvc) that comes in white and would be perfect for this type of stiching.

There's fabric paint for example: by Tulip or something like that in the craft section or craft store which is 3 dimensonal. That would do the trick.

Re: catwoman stitching on rubber suit
I would do what they did in the movie. From what I understand you would make some stitches on a fabric like leather or something thick. Maybe 30 stitches or so in various patterns. Then do a silicone mold of that or a plaster mold. Then make latex or urethane casting of it and cut them up and use their nice flat back side to easily glue to the suit. If you do urethane you could even do the stiches white andthe background black so there would be no need to paint all the individual stitches.
