Hollywood Costumes Batman Suit - Opinions
I thought some of you might know somthing about this here costume, I saw it at www.hollywoodcostumesandparty.com
the info looks slightly outdated, and folks on other boards have told me that it's been up and down for legal reasons?
I just thought it looked pretty cool, and I thought someone might know more about it

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
We had a recent discussion of the suit on this thread:
http://com1.runboard.com/bbrotherhoodofthebat.fmoviescartoonscollectibles.t261
To summarize, some like it, some think it's too over muscled. But in the end the owner of that site has very unethical business practices and will never get any trade from me.

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
.....ditto.
For the record I like the suit...like the IDEA of the cowl but dont think the actual process of the cowl worked for them the way they expected...latex shrinkage and so on. Great concept...unfortunate outcome with the finished result.

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
okay, so the suit is made BY hollywood costumes, and you're saying that the people at hollywood costumes are a bunch of schmucks and it would be prudent to stay away?
The costume looks pretty friggin' awesome, do you think the quality of the costume is poor, or is it just the quality of the creator and his company?
By the way...you guys reply really fast! I'm pretty active on ASAP, and nobody every replies that fast over there!
I'm more of a star wars prop/costume guy (tk4717 star garrison, 501st...holla) but I'm wanting to get started into comic book props n' costumes.
thanks

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
Quality is almost impossible to judge from a photo. All the mass produced Batman latex suits look great in the pictures, but once you get them out of the box tend to look like slightly sculpted trash bags.
That is due in part to how many they produce. Generally speaking smaller production runs produce better quality latex costumes becasue the molds don't get over used. Using a mold too much deteriorates the detail in the latex and leads to poor quality costumes.
Since the Hollywood Batsuit has never been produced and no one has received one it's quality is unknown, but may be good depending upon how the production run is handled, which is also unknown.
Stick around the cave it's a great source of comic book costuming knowledge. Also check out the Link Exchange at the bottom of the page for related sites.

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
I think its been about a year since they put it up on the web site, they should of waited and made sure it was alright to make it in the first place because they had the problem with rights and such.

Re: super deluxe expensive batman costume
I see they cut their suit off fairly seemlessly at the knees. I can do that too if you don't want to buy extra large boots to go with mine or slit regular boots you can do what they did.
Mine is not quite as muscled but coming from the same line of thought.
