great version man!

If it were me, I'd get some burlap, and one of those hard plastic skull halloween masks. Make a crude sack style mask out of the burlap, doesn't need to be too pretty, you want it to look ragged. Fit it over your head and mark where your eyes need to be. Cut them out very small (like smaller than a dime size) Cut off the bottom section of the skull, just below the cheekbones and right above the front teeth and glue it in sack/mask with the eyes lined up where you cut the small holes. Trim the burlap back to meet the eyes of the plastic mask glued inside. Make the bottom edges ragged and then get your rope, hat, and shirt together.

Any way you go though man, I'd love to see some pics. Good luck with you project.

Hey Bro,
I went as Scarecrow last year for a halloween party. I did a lot like the last reply except w/o gluing it to a mask. I had a hat like that and went to a few thrift shops for clothes ($3.00). I had some fringed boots and work gloves. I duct taped strips of burlap on the gloves and boots along with rope on the arms and as a belt. For the mask I got a sheet of burlap wrapped it on my head to find where to cut the eyes and mouth. After I cut then I pulled around the cuts to make it look worn. I duct taped around the inside of the eyes as after starting to fray it it can easily fray out of control. I then got a marker and made cut lines and got thick twine (craft store), taped it to a needle and sewed in "fake" stiches. I also stiched twine between upper and lower sections of the mouth while keepingh the mouth section open, then duct taped the inside again. It wasn't the most pronounced mask but it looked creepy! Hope this helped.

Drew did you get pics Id like to see that.

as for the mask I know burlap is prefered but I think I would use a canvas type material.

John does have a good point here, burlap may be quite itchy.

No one said this would be painless. Plus w/ the twined mouth, you can still talk, eat, drink, breathe. All pluses. It wasn't too bad. Had a harder time seeing wher I was going due to limited vision.

Doesn't Brin have a Scarecrow mask? I remember when I visited his website a couple months back, he had a picture of a Scarecrow mask... I always thought it looked creepy as hell.
