Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
Technically, I have a cloth suit but I'm making it, so then again, I want one. And about muscles, well, I don't really care that much... would be nice though lol

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
Even my brother who has 18" arms and 27" legs is no match to a "superhero build". Unless you are a steriod freak then you will never have the muscles that a good muscle suit will provide.
Just look at Spider-Man. The stuntmen wore musclesuits under the costume to supplement what muscles they had and if you think they are girly-men your crazy!

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
The Spider-Man muscle suit is hardly that of a "Superhero's build". Anyone could get to that size with the proper training and diet.
Spider-Man just looks "athletic".

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
The more important question here is when Rick pulls it off is anyone going to pay top dallor for a suit and additionally even more to have the fabric top coat treatment done to it for an additional charge. Let's be fair this suit will be great but it will be hard to make and expensive.
I want Rick to succeed but even when he does the process will make the suits even more expensive than mine because they will have to each be individually treated with the cloth application process and that is after the manufacturing process.

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
Then to be fair to Rick Paul I'd say he may have a difficult time being able to regain his initial investment if he plans to sell these generic muscle suits, considering that "most" members and suit collectors do have a limited budget that they try to works within the confines of.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea at all, in fact I think it's a fantastic idea, but I'm not sure how many guys could shell out 4 grand plus for a generic style muscle suit alone (I know I could not). It's really something that needs a fairly solid price put on it for possible buyers and a firm commitment from said buyers before the process is commenced to determine if it is or is not monetarily prohibitive and worth it to Rick for the investment.

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
Right you are Paul. It will probably be VERY hard to make if not impossible. The object here is to try and see if it can be done.
If I have to make this just for myself, no problem. That is what this hobby is about. All of us at one time or another wanted to have "the ultimate" costume and probably had to make it ourselves to do it right.
I am trying to come up with something that is not being done right now. Mabye it is because of the difficulty, mabye it is just impossible.
The point is that alot of people would like to have a cloth costume of whatever superhero. The problem is that when you put spandex on the normal person all you get is yuck!! :beatup

Where there is a will there is a way. I would not sell these at 4 grand. The way I figure it, if it works and can be done with limited effort. (yea right) Then mabye there will be interest.

Then I'd say go for it Rick! If it's worth it to you, then that's what really matters. I just don't know how much people can put out for one if like Paul says...the process will be more expensive than his.
Overall though man...I'd love to see one of these done.

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
I have a spandex suit that and that thing is still hot when you wear it...Damn, I can't imagine what you wetsuit bro's must feel like!
I like the muscle idea as I work out 7 days a week and feel I'm in pretty good shape (could lose another 15 to 20 pounds) but that really doesn't show through my spandex suit.

Although...in reality the Alex Ross Batman didn't show that much muscle definition which I think is realistic because unless you paint the suit on you wouldn't see that muscle anyway.
I think it boils down to personal opinion of course and how the suit makes you feel when you put it on.

Re: Cloth Costume intrest poll
I would like to have a cloth suit. I'll most likly use an under-armour shirt and pants. I don't think I'll use any padded muscles.
I'm working on a cloth cowl right now.
