Where to Find Catwoman Claws
Got a question for all you Catwoman lovers. In the movie Batman Returns, what did she use as her claws? I thought they were seam rippers (sewing supplies), and we're working on a costume for my wife. HOwever, we've been unable to find them.
If they are seam rippers, do you have any suggestions on what would be a good replacement. If they are not, what are they exactly?
THanks a ton in advance for your help.

Re: Catwoman claws
I had some close up pics of one of the claws that was on ebay but I lost them when my old computer blew up. :(

Re: Catwoman claws
Nashville,
Some of them were guitar finger picks, some were thimbles, different things, but all of them had claws attached to them.

Re: Catwoman claws
Wow, seem to have come in at the right time for this...
I'm helping a friend work on a top grade catwoman suit and we were frettin' over this recently.
The DVD doesn't show enough detail :( I remeber finger worn items like she used in my Mom's sewing cabinet YEARS ago (like, the 70's)
So, the correct way is to improvise these? We had already planned to do so with a soldering iron and greebles from the hardware store.....

Re: Catwoman claws
Just an update. Thanks to Brin, I did more Googling, and found what I think are the answers.
#1 are the guitar picks. These are finger picks and are made by National Picks USA. Think of old Banjo pickers. Very cool or a nice looking and non-leathal option for the nails. Here is the link to the pics.

The root site has ordering options. Fairly cheap.
#2 are Cat Claw laying tools. They are a sewing item, similar to a thimble. What the use is, I'm clueless. However, the design I've found are identical to the National picks. 100% identical, other than there is a 2 inch needle sticking out from the end of it. There is the link for the laying tools.

We are going with the guitar picks since they look the same and run less of a chance of ending up with a needle being stuck into an itchy eye or something.

Re: Catwoman claws
AWyant, GREAT find, thanks!
Those sewing picks could easily be modded with prop pieces into claws....
Now she'll have to learn to be VERY careful with them out in public :firemad

Re: Catwoman claws
Exactly...that's why we opted for the picks. We actually found a different site with a few different styles. There is one that is fairly pointy, and looked a little more like claws.
We didn't want to have an eye on a stick for Halloween!

We got 6 pair shipped for like $13. Can't beat that!
Thought I'd follow up. They also have the other National pick style too. Same price.

Re: Catwoman claws
I thought you'd like that little bit of info.
But why are you ordering online? You should be able to go down to the corner to get those. :lol

Re: Catwoman claws
Yea, the info on the claws was invaluable. Helped the search a ton.
As far as getting them on the corner...not hardly. In a town of 1500, we;re lucky we've got a convenience store.
Around here, it's generally online or not.
