Nice concept David! :up
If I might make a suggestion as far as the zipper(s):
Consider this...
Make it a pull-over type jacket with three zippers.
Instead of a zipper in the front, have two zippers up the sides to the armpit that will be pulled down to close. Piping will hide them and be incorporated into the design.
Add a third zipper either in the front or the back of the neck,a small 6 inch zipper to make the neck opening wider when putting on. This way the neck opening can be somewhat snug when wearing, but easy to put on and take off when unzipped. The cape/cowl will hide this zipper.
The idea being a seamless, yet tight fitting jacket with no visible means of getting on and off.
I could draw a sketch if this doesn't make sense. Just an idea.

Thanks John.
Yup...been thinking of other options there. I'm trying to see if my manufacturer will be able to install the zipper on the backside instead...but we then have serious fitting problems to deal with. Not that it cant be done....but, for now I am looking into the possibility of this actually working.
Still...I liked the DD suit and subsequent X2 suits even with the zipper in the front. In my case the zipper will be concealed so it will just look like part of the detail in the event that I cant find a suitable alternative.
Hey does anyone have the pic of the Ultimate Batman from Wizard that was published last year, I think it was last year...??
If you've got it please post it!

Looks a lot like a leather version of the Begins suit. Have you though about going with a more organic look to it, like in the Ultimates concept?

Actually Tim I had considered that but the problem with the Ultimates suit is that it works as a drawing.
It looks like some thin kind of material that allows for the beautiful muscle details to show through. Leather doesnt work that way and for me to build up each and every muscle that way would be next to impossible.
The ulitmates suit really only has the V shape in the front that continues into the legs. If you look closely at Wolverines X2 costume you'll see that that's where the Ultimate Batman drawing came from minus all the details from X2.
I'm a fan of the more elaborate movie suits...Green Goblin, Daredevil, Xmen and now the Begins suit. I've incorporated some elements from all the suits mentioned above...with strong focus on the Begins image.
Dont get me wrong...I love the Ultimates look...but for this project I'd rather go all out and new...push some bounderies and possibly do something that has yet to be seen even on the big screen....in leather that is.
I may yet find a way to do a suit similar to the Ultimates.....but for now I'm pretty big on this concept.

David, I was working on a photoshop of your jacket that I painted and then textured in leather and it was coming out real cool. The only problem is my pc shutdown and I did not save it. (stupid stupid stupid :whack )
I lost about 45 minutes of solid work. Oh well, I may try again.

Re: Batman Leather Costume back on the workbench. Sketches Added!
Awww too bad buddy!!!
Still...if you take another crack at it I'd love to see it...:)
Also if once you've got it colored in could you do one with a very thin yellow line around the bat. All traced out like the Batgirl emblem?? Along the stitching lines is all it would need.
I'm debating trying that also, and seeing it done in photoshop...(something I cant do dammit!!!!!)....might help me decide if it's worth it for the prototype or not.
Thanks!!!
