Does anyone have measurements of the screen used?

The first pic is a scan of one that is supposed to be accurate to the real one,but I'm not entirely sure or convinced.
Either way,its probably very close to the real dimensions, even if it isn't exact.
The scan is resized exactally half scale. Save the pic, resize it by doubling it,print it and that should be accurate enough. :wink

I don't know why that would be. I thought if you right-clicked and saved,it would be the exact size it's posted as. Then of course double it and so on...I tested it and it worked perfectly.

The overall width is about 8.25"...center-from top of ears to bottom of point about 4"...top of ears to bottom of blades about 6.25"

So draw a rectangle 8.25" wide by 6.25" high, mark your neccessary centers and draw a rang inside of it. :wink

That first one ISNT screen accurate. It was made by SDStudios. Hand sculpted by Steve D. now of Master Replicas. Almost every one you get is a recast of one of the ones he made. The only person I know of with one of Steve's originals is Matt Munson. As far as I know, an original has never surfaced (but there was one one ebay with those ninja stars a few years back... I swear it was accurate... I hopefully will have the pic to show in a few weeks). Same goes for the Returns rang. Everyone is a recast of an SDS one.

I have a very old Comic scene poster edition mag and it had the props of Batman and an interview with John Evans the creator and he said the material that made that 89 Batarang fold out was called Bungee. I suppose it is the same material thay use for the jump material of the same name. :wink

Yeah Kevin,I agree it isn't screen accurate. Upon first glance it looks really close, but there are a couple of things.
I got the one in the pic from the Bathound. There's a few things wrong with it(detail wise),but I on my sculpt I fixed one thing and noticed something else after I finished, but its such a small detail its hardly noticable unless you really look close. :p

What little detail, if I may ask?
I'm curious.

Re: Real Batarang

The overall shape looks good, but I don't know how accurate it is in reality. I guess you'd have to put them side by side to know for sure.
But here's two mistakes I found.
Take note of the vertical ribs. The real rang has 6 ribs. On one I already have and the one I got from the Hound, which I believe are SDStudios rangs, there are 8 ribs.(I have a third that's not accurate at all,but still pretty cool.)
I fixed that, but what I missed is hard to describe, but I'll try: Where the ribs go,the rang isn't flat. If you look close you'll notice they sit in a slightly recessed area. Like a squared section is cut out and slightly lower than the rest, then the ribs go in. By missing this,I think the ribs are a little too high.
This almost gives the appearence of 8 ribs at first glance, but the 2 side ones aren't really ribs, but a continuation of the rangs actual height.
I think that made sense. If not I can try to point these out in photoshop or something.
