Re: Making a working '89 Batarang...updated pics pg. 4
OK, technical stuff here.
You using smooth-cast 300? if so, the time frame issue is bizarre...used 300 and the color match variety a lot...maybe like 10 gallon kits worth and NEVER had any problems with it, unlike their flexible foam. :cussing :whack
What are you using to mix with and in? perhaps that caused that problem, don't use wood, always plastic or metal.
The gray issue will probably not be solved unless you switch to 325 colormatch, it's made to tint to black unlike 300 which will only get a deep gray at the best.
let me know when you get it all done, I always liked that 'rang and might be interested in one, ah who am I kidding, I want one.

Re: Making a working '89 Batarang...updated pics pg. 4
The mold stuff, resin and tint are brand new...meaning they just got a new shippment the day I bought it. The stuff was brand new in a big box,so I don't think it's that.
I don't know if I shook/mixed the first bottle properly when I did the first mold, which is the one that was slimey. That was probably the problem there.
Anyway, that problem's taken care of..the molds are fine now.
The resin is Smooth-cast 70D. I don't know what that means. :huh
The resin seems fine until I add tint. I'm going to try to cast all the parts again using no tint, then I'll just paint it. It's a proto-type anyway,so I'll worry about the mechanical end first, then tackle the colored resin.
Thanks guys!

Looking like it COULD WORK. And compact enough for a belt compartment, too.

Re: Making a working '89 Batarang...updated pics pg. 4
Thanks guys...and stranger Lori. :nahnah
Thanks Ed for the info.
I will have pics tonight and it will work. I'm useing a certain glue for a certain part and it takes over 3 hours to cure,so when that's done I'll take pics of the proto type.
I may have used too much mold release because it won't take a coat of primer too well. I washed it pretty well,so I don't know. It's a really nice clean cast though, but it'll probably look crappy in the pics because of the primer.
