Bat Helmet

Anyone ever make a helmet like the one in TAS for the batcycle? Was thinking about doing that when all this crap I've got going on now thins down a little.

I guess the only real difference would either be holes for the "ears" or extended sections to slide the "ears" into.

Personally what do you all think about the use of the helmet itself, to me it seemed a little unnecessary given the costume and in comparison to his other activities, well, not nearly as dangerous.

I think it's a damn good idea, considering he could be speeding away at 90mph, and if he gets in an accident with no helmet, then Dick's gunna be takin up the cowel pretty quickly. But if you were to make it, I'd make things for the ears to slip into, rather than holes in the helmet. It'd just look better.

Batman's cowl is basically a helmet anyway. I don't understand a helmet over a helmet.
I like the Bat helmet by itself though.

I think it's a great idea! I could use one for when I go riding.

It would definitely be a great idea...but only for DISPLAY if you plan on physically modifying (cuttin into the helmet)....cuz for one thing, i definitely dont think it would serve much protection since it was modified and secondly, if you ever get pulled over by a cop and they see that it wasn't DOT (Federal Government’s Department of Transportation) or SNELL (another helmet approval place) approved they may give you a ticket.....Dont get me wrong....it definitely is a good idea, cuz i would like one when i'm riding my motorcycle, but i would opt for a Bad A** looking batman graphic instead....If you do decide to make one...definitely make sure you it's for COSTUME USE ONLY....i'd hate to see a brother on the news involved in a motorcycle accident where the helmet didnt save them....you could proabably just glue on some ears to a helmet to give the effect of it fitting over a cowl....

Artsee sort of made one a few years ago. It was really a ski helmet, but it was a Returns cowl and it looked great, but I don't know how it worked or how functional it actually was...meaning was it a cowl fitted over a helmet and could you really take a blow to head and be protected.
Looked cool regardless.

Exactly Gotham knight, purely pretty, DOT, SNELL, OSHA, NIJ, and all the other kinds of testing wouldn't be feasible or practical.

The ski helmet sounds like what Silent Bob had on in mallrats, is that the kind of thing we're talking about?

Brin, that was what I was thinking

I was thinking of sculpting one, kicking around some different ideas in my empty head, so sometimes it takes a while to go catch the ball. :cookoo

Silent Bob's was a just a baseball type cap with bat ears(specially made,I'm sure)...Artsee's was a Returns cowl that was cut straight at the jaw line exactally like a motorcycle helmet. It was a helmet, but again,I don't know the specifics.
