Re: Thought you all might like this... '89 Replica
Is that ES's car? Tim somebody? Hmmm...
I've got that same pic saved, but I don't remember who I got it from.
Looks like it might be a good, solid build, but it's still too early to tell for sure.

Hey there Brin! Well, you definately don't have THIS pic saved. I took it yesterday afternoon. And a million others, as well as plenty of video footage!
Here is more info about it: My Post on CLTC
(I am way too lazy to rewrite everything here)
But as I state in the other post, the builder is the same one who built the Carmel replica. It helped me solve several mysteries at once.

That pic just looks so familiar.
I think it's the tent thing over it that's throwing me off. You say you've solved mysteries? Spill it son.

Lol. I am afraid I might anger way too many people if I spill the beans publicly.
You are probably thinking of all of Eric's pics of the replica that was on e-bay recently (looked primer grey, half finished?) That was being built in a very similar tent area thingy.

Re: Thought you all might like this... '89 Replica
Well there is some that I can, and some that I cannot. For instance, I can share that I now know where and ORIGINAL '89 body is being kept. In fact, when the TV special comes out, I am being interviewed sitting right by it. It was not screen used, but it was pulled as a backup just in case. There are a few things that give it away as an original, like the lip that is molded into the 2 seperate pieces.
Other info cannot be made public. For instance, I now know who built the Carmel replica, and more importantly, who OWNS it. Turns out it was someone I already knew!!! I also learned a little more about the TRUE history of this car.

Re: Thought you all might like this... '89 Replica
Have you seen the U.K. made "making of Batman" DVD? along with cast interviews. shows Keaton getting suited up, and a cool section on the 89' car, you can see the chassis, the afterburner, the guns etc.. right on set at pinewood. pretty cool. The Batmobile part was hosted by John Evans the guy who is credited with having overseen the building of the 89 original. Great shots of the costume vault. Must have for 89 fans.
