MrValens, it'd work, but the rope would probably fray WAY too easily and quickly if we were talking a real one...even the line I had on the hooks was going quick just from friction and it's ice fishing line made to stand up to sharp edges, or so it said.
if you go to brigade quartermasters and check out the hook they sell it's very similar to your pics, but with a turnbuckle kind of thing on the bottom.
