Detachable capsules? :p

It's one of my first projects after Christmas. Details soon (if my prototype works of course).

This is a great project! When a few of the top guys on the board put there heads together, you know cool things will come out of it.

I can't believe the accuracy of your CAD drawing, Henry! Y9ou have a great eye for details. Even the radius curveson the buttons are dead on!

One question, though. Are the outside walls of the buckle a bit thin, maybe? I suppose it depends on how brittle your final material will be. Just wondering.

Here's a question...

If the belt is made out of urethane, should it be really hard or should it be on the soft side if screws are used to hold it in place, inside the buckle?

I don't know if urethane that's too hard would start to split/tear at the spot of where the screws went in and if it was too soft (preventing that problem from happening) would that cause any problems itself?

What would be the prefference? On the hard side or soft?

Liam I use Vytaflex 60 for my belts, which is flexible yet very tough. You're right though, after a while it may have the tendancy to split at those points. I was thinking of adding metal eyelets to the urethane to reinforce those holes.

Very cool project Henry. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Any chance of an update on the working Panther buckle as well?

OK, so I think I just drooled into my keyboard and totally ruined it!!!! :lol

Henry, it is very good to see you posting and its great to hear that you're working with some toy companies! You deserve it and I can't wait to see the non-bat related stuff you're working on.

THIS is the '89 buckle I've been waiting to see and have dreamed of making. I just don't have access to the equipment to make one myself... And, now I won't have to!!!! I cannot WAIT to get one of these. As always, be absolutely sure that I'm on your list of bros that have to have one of these. You do know, however, that you'll have to make functional capsules to go with this. emoticon I won't stand for anything less! :toocool :p As always Henry, you never cease to amaze! Very nice 3-D modeling too...

Thanks for the update Henry.

Are they going to be green and orange like the picture? It's for Batman, not the Joker:lol
