What I plan on doing is cutting V shaped notches on each side of the face opening and glueing the edges of the V together to make it tighter. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the edges tight together while the Aquaseal cures?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Batdoogie)Wed, 20 Jun 2007 09:52:18 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040086,from=rss#post2040086https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040086,from=rss#post2040086Ya you may be right about Spidey webbing. I just like that it's flexible. Been holding off glueing down webbing until I found a flexible option. I'd probably have to apply it with a toothpick or something.nondisclosed_email@example.com (inkmonkey)Sun, 17 Jun 2007 12:36:17 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040085,from=rss#post2040085https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040085,from=rss#post2040085ahhh my bad. Umm its quite thick. It has roughly the same viscosity as silicone caulk. A bit stickier though. Its hard to explain. oncei tinted it it sped up the cure time to about 2 hours. If you dont tint it takes about 20 hours to fully cure. I left some untinted stuff and re worked it 3 hours after i started and it was just a bit thicker than before, but still workable. Its handy stuff... Im sure it could find a lot of uses. Might be a little hard on spidey webbing because the webbing is quite thin... But maybe worth a try?> Lawrencenondisclosed_email@example.com (loly2kn2)Sun, 17 Jun 2007 12:27:59 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040084,from=rss#post2040084https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040084,from=rss#post2040084I mean how thick in terms of viscosity. Is it runny like water or thick like peanut butter? Or somewhere in between? And how much time do you have to work with it before it sets? I'm wondering if this stuff will work for glueing Spidey webbing.nondisclosed_email@example.com (inkmonkey)Sun, 17 Jun 2007 11:49:37 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040083,from=rss#post2040083https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2040083,from=rss#post2040083that looks great, cant even tell. It flex's nicely with my cowl and seems pretty sturdy. The tube i got was 28grams. Its about average size of glue tubes that u buy in shops. They do make bigger tubes though. Once you've bought a trial sized kit of the urethane... mix up a small batch, then make a small hole on the inside of the cowl with a pair of small, sharp scissors, put a piece of Scotch tape over the hole on the outside to seal it, then with a small baby dropper, suck up some of the urethane, and shoot it into the hole from the inside. It probably won't be perfect, but it'll be a site better than that hole. Hope that helps. -Brin nondisclosed_email@example.com (Brin Londo)Thu, 07 Jun 2007 16:03:44 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038523,from=rss#post2038523https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038523,from=rss#post2038523Fixed your pic. ~Tim :batfly nondisclosed_email@example.com (The BlackBat)Thu, 07 Jun 2007 15:55:10 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038522,from=rss#post2038522https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038522,from=rss#post2038522The pic's not showing for me. -Brinnondisclosed_email@example.com (Brin Londo)Thu, 07 Jun 2007 15:51:04 +0000 Re: Air Bubbles on Urethanehttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038486,from=rss#post2038486https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2038486,from=rss#post2038486Heres a pic I was thinking maybe some black sillicone sealant stuff, caulking i think its called.
