Can't get real members to come back from Facebook but losers still come in. Frustrating. :( nondisclosed_email@example.com (efarrell4)Fri, 27 Nov 2020 13:13:36 +0000 Re: Painting Leatherhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2346132,from=rss#post2346132https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2346132,from=rss#post2346132You are most welcome. The stuff is amazing. nondisclosed_email@example.com (efarrell4)Thu, 13 Sep 2007 21:58:55 +0000 Re: Painting Leatherhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053970,from=rss#post2053970https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053970,from=rss#post2053970Wow, that looks awesome! And Brin's right. Nu-Life Vinyl and Leather Spray comes in a TON of different colors. I sprayed it on my wife's leather boots and gloves for her Batgirl costume, Just before Dragon Con, I masked off around the bat emblem on her chest and sprayed that the same color gold as well. It's made out of latex and the Nu-Life sticks there SO well! And as a matter of fact... I do have to confess that Nu-Life spray will ALSO stick to urethane. I touched up the urethane Batgirl belt Ed and I made form a Clooney belt, by painting Nu-Life onto the bat. It's still strong as could be. No peeling, chipping or cracking. nondisclosed_email@example.com (EchoSix)Thu, 13 Sep 2007 11:01:45 +0000 Re: Painting Leatherhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053963,from=rss#post2053963https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053963,from=rss#post2053963I learned the hard way that regular spray paint will not work(I never tried the kinds of paint Brin mentioned)!! It will crack and peel. After a lot of trail and error, i found that it you wipe mineral spirits on a cloth and wipe down the area you are going to paint, this will "open up the pores" on the leather and the paint will sink into the fabic much better. then use actual leather paint and it will work great. You will need to put on several coats because the leather will absorb it, but it will be worth it. I painted black leather green and it worked great. nondisclosed_email@example.com (stuntguy)Thu, 13 Sep 2007 10:32:29 +0000 Re: Painting Leatherhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053919,from=rss#post2053919https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053919,from=rss#post2053919The duct tape will leave adhesive residue, get it of of there. What color are you going to be painting on the jacket. Duplicolor fabric and vinyl spray works well, as does Nu-life leather spray. -Brinnondisclosed_email@example.com (Brin Londo)Thu, 13 Sep 2007 05:08:32 +0000 Painting Leatherhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053866,from=rss#post2053866https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2053866,from=rss#post2053866Okay, I'm going to be painting up a leather jacket soon enough. I already have duck tape covering it revealing the pattern of which I'm going to paint. My only question is the paint itself. I was told by a friend that if it says on the spray can that it can go on rubber, then it'll be just fine to paint straight onto leather as well. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Nightshade0020)Wed, 12 Sep 2007 20:38:42 +0000
