Ooohh NICE!
Gotta see those when your done.
Have you decided on resin or urethane or both?

Re: Begins gauntlet project resurrected!
I'd like to see both when your done.
I personally lean more toward resin but I can wait for a side by side comparison pic in the future.
Gonna be killer i'm sure!

Re: Begins gauntlet project resurrected!
Quick question about the foam method you are using here.
Can you describe in any more detail what woodglue you used and how it was applied?
A while back I had tried to do some sculpting from insulation foam and had ended up destroying the sculpt because I used polyester resin to coat it.
If I had known about the wood glue... said occurrence might have been avoided :(

Re: Begins gauntlet project resurrected!
Of course.
I used the yellow Elmer's wood glue. I thinned it a tiny bit with water so it would be a little more brushable. I just used a chip brush to apply multiple coats. I've heard the regular white Elmer's glue is not suitable, but the yellow Elmer's wood glue is.
If not for Tom's(clevelandfx's) advice I would have tried the polyester resin too. Just for fun, I put a lump of green squadron putty on a bare piece of the foam and it ate nearly all the way through the sheet. Anything solvent based will destroy it. And aerosol propellant(spray paints) will destroy it too.
