Re: Question for brothers who have a latexed undersuit

Brin pretty much nailed the basic point of it.

Just pigment your latex to the correct color, and latex over any exposed areas. Personally, I wouldnt wear any clothes, other than boxers when you latex your undersuit. I wanted a perfect fit. Your undersuit is going to lose its stretch, so be sure to get one that fits like a glove. That'll help avoid any wrinkles in the suit. The shine you see generally comes from too much plasti-dip or someone polishing their suit. Def make sure your skin is covered in plastic-wrap... and I mean well covered. You dont want glue or latex adhereing to any body hair. If you need any more pointers, let me know. Here are a few pics of my previous suit, the new one will be a bit more challenging.

Re: Question for brothers who have a latexed undersuit

PunisherNC,

that undersuit came out amazing!! thanks for the pics. I am going to put the undersuit on a life cast of myself and latex it on that. I am planning on covering the cast with saran wrap and then dusting it with a thin coat of talcum powder, then put the undersuit on it and then latex it.

I am trying to scan some pics of my design that i am working on to give you guys a better idea of what i trying to do. Basically i am trying to create a hybrid between an 89 style suit and TDK one with a little bit of a Year ONe style thrown in. I want the exposed areas to contrast the armored parts because i am going for simplified segmented suit look. The undersuit is will be dark gray latex and mesh while the armor will be black. Also, there are a couple parts that will be exposed, but instead of latexing them, i will be using a mesh material to simulate flexible kelvar (mainly on the inner thighs and ribs)

As for the body suit...i think i have decided on not using lycra. it seems that too many bros have had problmes wiht them streching out) I found a .5mm dive suit called a Bali Style Dive suit that i think will work. It will be hotter than a lycra suit, but i want higher quaility and it to last longer.

Thanks, I'm really looking forward to seeing what you've got.

And you have a lifecast of yourself? Wow, how lucky are you? I'd love to have one. Would make mounting the armor, and latexing the undersuits sooooo much easier.

PunisherNC,

the batgirl pics you posted...are those exposed areas latexed as well?? if they are, they came out gorgeous! that is definitly the look i am trying to achieve. what kind of undersuti did you use...lycra? neoprene? spandex?

the lifecast is actually duct tape dummy that i learned how to make from one of the guys over at the League of heroes boards. I then covered in black gaff tape to make sure it was completely smooth. it came out great and the measurments are almost exact to mine...it has helped me tremendously already...i'll post a pic of it when i can.

Re: Question for brothers who have a latexed undersuit

My wife and I both used one of those lycra zentai suits you find so cheaply on Ebay for our undersuits. She painted the latex on mine using a foam brush. I used a small cloth roller on hers. I knew she wouldnt want to be as still, or stand as long as I could, so I wanted to get the latex on quickly. The texture was very nice, and made her suit flow wonderfully. Plus, the zentai suit was great. Neither one of us broke a sweat the whole time we were in costume.

I need to go check the LOH, didnt realize they had had a tutorial for a bodycast there.

Thanks, bud. Pics would be great.

Speaking of duct tape dummies... I just put one together with the help of my wife.

I don't have any pics and after completing it, and I really don't want any... WOW, I am one fat MoFo :doh

I guess I'm gonna have to hit the gym :cussing

Anyway... not to hijack this thread, here's the link I used for the dummy...
