I'll take some new shoots Tim. I corrected the windscreen and front stripes and will correct the chutes next. I'll post pics in a little bit.

Quote: I will most likely leave phone in this location but correct the size. Barris' #1 has phone here.
The phone is HUGE. Way too big.
It is actually in the wrong place too. This is where he has it now,but it isn't where it belongs. Don't go by ANY current pics of the number 1. It isn't accurate anymore. The 2 and 3 are currently more accurate than the number 1. The number 4 car will never be.
There was an 'L' shaped holder for the phone made from leather that was placed way forward of where it is now, slightly under the dashboard.
For the window trim,I would suggest something called 'Bare Metal' foil. It's a very thin foil with a sticky side that comes in different finishes, but chrome is what you want.
It will bring it alive in a whole new way.
If you really want to go the full nine, take it apart, strip it,then sand off all the label 'bumps',on the body, grills and amber lights.
Then repaint it.
I'd like to get rid of the black paint on the windshield too,but I'm not sure what would work without blurring the plastic, but I read alcohol might work.
It's an awesome model and more accurate than any other ever, but there's lots of room for improvement.

Re: Starting the upgrades to my '66 Hot Wheels Batmobile Pics 04/12/08
Just another tip regarding reference photos.
As I mentioned, don't go by any current pictures of the #1,and basically nothing after around 1967. It changed for the third season. Unless you want to make a third season car,of course.
There's plenty of photos out there on 1966batmobile.com,and links for many more.
As for replica cars, find some pictures of a replica owned by a guy named Tom Woodruff. His car is more accurate than any other out there and is about an exact copy, and more accurate by far than the #1 is today. I know there's some really good shots that help.
