Re: foamies gauntlets + beginings of a foamies suit! *updates*

How do the gauntlets attach to your wrists- Is it one long stripped thats velcroed so it latches on to the other side...or ...are they traditional full slip on gantlets? :beatup :doh

Plus do you have a template you used to create your gauntlets if so could you pass on a link. thankyou

The gauntlets are Velcro along the bottom edge. Refer to page 1 to see how they look flat. My template actually came about as a result of trial and error with some hand drawn paper templates. I referred to the template in the archives( http://www.runboard.com/bbrotherhoodofthebat.f14.t189525 ) when making my own (with some obvious modifications). Just remember that if you go the Foamies with Velcro route; add another inch or 2 to your arm measurements to accommodate for the flap of Velcro itself. Other than that ,all I can say for anyone wanting to make something out of foamies is try it with paper first and make sure it looks right. You can then use your paper trial as a template if it turns out right. This is the method I've found to be the most effective because you can just keep using the paper trial as a template to replicate the design as many times as you need. This becomes most useful in making a suit because it makes it much easier to achieve symmetry.

My suit is taking shape!

As you can see I still definitely have some work to do to finish up this suit(some more chest work, arms, shoulders, etc.) but after getting some gluing done I'm really excited at how it's turning out! What do you guys think?

Re: foamies suit build

I just got the zipper installed on the back today and I'm really anxious to try it on! I've gotta grab some more foamies sheets to finish up the shoulders and arms but after that all I've got left is the leg armour.

Speaking of leg armour... any suggestions on how to go about this with foamies would be much appreciated. I'm thinking i'll just use a pair of black tights and glue the armour on it. The fabric glue I've been using seems to be very strong so the tights should keep the shape of the foamies...

Getting a quality cowl looms more and more ominously...
