I just got a large rolling suitcase, biggest one Wally World had. My whole suit fits in it, not much room for anything else though.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lord pupmind)Sat, 23 Aug 2008 06:07:46 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095736,from=rss#post2095736https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095736,from=rss#post2095736awesome!!!!!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (jokesterjmac)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 12:05:30 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095733,from=rss#post2095733https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095733,from=rss#post2095733Your friendly neighborhood HOME DEPOT for like 60 bones. ITs made by Stanley Tools. Its big durable and lockable. I saw it when I was there for something else and it was like a light went off over my head. DING! So i bought two. One to replace the anakin bin i have and one for the TDK suit i will be getting. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Anakinos)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 11:42:49 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095715,from=rss#post2095715https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095715,from=rss#post2095715where can i get one of those storage containers like anakinos???nondisclosed_email@example.com (jokesterjmac)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 10:02:17 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095711,from=rss#post2095711https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095711,from=rss#post2095711OKay Let's take the mannequin out of the equation, and let's say I am not taking the suit anyplace for a few months....at least October..... Any issues at all with storing a rubber bat suit in a 90+ degree garage for any length of time? Presumably a bit cooler in the plastic storage bin, but not much.... Will that harm my latex cape and urethane armor? Will the gluing points of the armor/undersuit come loose? Other than putting the styrofoam head inside the cowl, should I do anything else to prepare the pieces for being in storage for a while? nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatJet3)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 09:53:54 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095706,from=rss#post2095706https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095706,from=rss#post2095706Well i use both a mannequin and a storage device at least for my Anakin costume. When Im not wearing it its on display on a mannequin in my house. When i go to a con it gets put in this and its perfect for the job and got it at home depot. I plan on doing the same thing for TDK when i get that finished.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Anakinos)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 08:43:03 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095703,from=rss#post2095703https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095703,from=rss#post2095703Good point but I don't think I'll be wearing mine much. And that was for a Vader costume, I don't want to think about removing a skintight rubber suit from one. :shootme   Just having a cool looking storage unit is enough for me.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lord pupmind)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 03:56:46 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095617,from=rss#post2095617https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095617,from=rss#post2095617Dude thanks for the heads up I ve been looking for a case to put the a full suited manniquin in . They are made of steel, lockable, and about $250. I could get my friend to machine me a large metal bat for the front, I think it would look pretty cool. And it would cost less than a begins closet.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lord pupmind)Sat, 14 Jun 2008 15:39:50 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095469,from=rss#post2095469https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2095469,from=rss#post2095469Might be reading the replies wrong, but....I don't believe I see anything about storing the suit and accessories....just stuff for transporting. We have company coming over soon, and I have to give up the Batcave for a few weeks....how best to store latex cape, urethane suit and latex cowl? I just hang the comic style together on one hanger (pants, top, cape) in the back of my closet..... makes a cool display when my clothes are moved aside. armor, and the underclothes for it each have their own hangers: armor, shirt, pants. the two above are side-by-side in my closet. cowl is on a 2-liter soda bottle with plastic bags stuffed inside it. The gloves, the belts, and the boot covers are on a shelf in my closet next to the cowl. I'm gonna try to go all-out one of these days and make the batvault in my basement.... nondisclosed_email@example.com (batbrat)Mon, 12 May 2008 15:54:07 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090106,from=rss#post2090106https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090106,from=rss#post2090106We use large plastic bins, too. Anything that can be hung on a hanger (bodysuits, capes, etc.) is grouped into one garment bag. Cowls are stuffed with towels, and we usually just set them carefully on top of the other stuff packed in the car and carry them by hand. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Deadly Lemur)Mon, 12 May 2008 14:45:59 +0000 Re: Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090105,from=rss#post2090105https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090105,from=rss#post2090105Zippered garment bag (closet size) for the suit components. I keep my cowl in the original box it came in and put soft packing (old towel cut up) around it. :batman When you pack the case, try and put the separate items in, in the order you will put them on, saves having to get it all out and spread it around the floor, then you risk misplacing something or damaging it. :up :up nondisclosed_email@example.com (ninjaq)Mon, 12 May 2008 10:45:45 +0000 Batsuit storage/transportationhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090059,from=rss#post2090059https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2090059,from=rss#post2090059Like the heading says, how do you guys store and transport your batsuit. I will (fingers crossed) be the proud owner of a complete begins suit in the next few days and need to know I am toying with the idea of a mannaquinn but as space is slightly limited wondered if the 'torso only' type would do. Also when attending events do you just stuff it in a suitcase :surprise All my previous costumes have been hard armour (Boba Fett, Scout Trooper, clone trooper) and i'm a little unsure about how to handle a full latex costume :) Any advise would be great Jonnondisclosed_email@example.com (spartan1195)Mon, 12 May 2008 10:05:32 +0000
