Scarecrow Costumes
Im working on a Scarecrow costume for The Dark Knight Premere, i was going to go as batman, but after finding these forums, i would be embarassed too, so i decided to do something within my skill range, scarecrow.
Now i've got the mask under control, burlap sack (and im planning on adding rice to the burlap to act as the maggots in Begins) but..
The Straight Jacket...no idea where to find a cheap one, so instead i wondered about making my own out of a very very long sleeved shirt, but no luck in finding that too.
Im hoping some of you guys have ideas cause im pooped on thinking. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: So, Straightjacket for scarecrow costume?
Welcome to the cave! :cheers
Here are a few threads from the archives that might help. I don't think they have much advice on straightjackets, but there's lots of ideas for the mask that might help you make yours look really good.

Welcome to the cave!
And although i have no idea what the links are that Deadly Lemur posted, You could probably modify a zippered shirt into a straight jacket fairly easily i would imagine.

Re: So, Straightjacket for scarecrow costume?
those links are mainly for masks....
get a white or kahki colored zip-up jacket that is relatively thin.
get fabric that matches it and add on to the arms.... hide the seams with a leather "strap" or buckle.
wear it with the zipper on your back and get a stencil to spraypaint "arkham asylum" and a serial number onto the front and back.
example:
Arkham Asylum
Patient #65401
Hope I helped a little... that's just how I'd make one....

Costume shops seem to have cheap mental patient outfits, you in England or the states?
