I too am thinking of putting together a suit that has little latex because latex is to restricting & hot. I'm even working on a cowl that I'll be able to fully turn my head while wearing. The logos ae driving me crazy though. I need to remove them or find a way to hide them. if heat & peel doesn't work I'll try other methods mentioned here.nondisclosed_email@example.com (AlienFilms)Wed, 18 Jun 2008 11:53:14 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094983,from=rss#post2094983https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094983,from=rss#post2094983Zmanz, Mine is "supplex", whatever that is. It feels softer than spandex and moves a lot like what you describe. Only bad thing is, it attracts lint like mad, which shows up wonderfully on the black. :cussing nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lrcrow)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:51:25 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094972,from=rss#post2094972https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094972,from=rss#post2094972I keep having to slap my hand every time I look at wetsuits....DON'T NEED...ALREADY HAVE ONE PIECE SPANDEX/LYCRA THING save myself $100 per day that way :) nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatJet3)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:13:30 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094971,from=rss#post2094971https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094971,from=rss#post2094971if you can find black miliskin, its better quality. I once worn such a suit (don't own it anymore), much better than spandex. it stretches equally in any direction, so its more form fitting. And thanks for reassuring me BatJet3!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zmanz)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:11:50 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094967,from=rss#post2094967https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094967,from=rss#post2094967Thanks for all the feedback. After further review, I think I'll stick with a black unitard. Cooler, and without all that work removing the logos. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lrcrow)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:07:18 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094966,from=rss#post2094966https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094966,from=rss#post2094966doubt it VERY seriously.....the material AND the method of assembly are VERY strong..... would take quite a heavy suit being applied to make it sag nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatJet3)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:06:25 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094964,from=rss#post2094964https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094964,from=rss#post2094964so...does anyone know if this stuff can sag, if armor parts are glued to it? anyone?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zmanz)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 16:03:26 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094963,from=rss#post2094963https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094963,from=rss#post2094963lukcily the only part exposed on my suit is a quick silver logo which is tinny next to my left knee, but it is done clear, so it really isnt that visable. Ill still try to heat and peal it off. MY wetsuit is 3mm thick.... wish it was .5, but oh well, ill burn some calories off. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Indakin)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 15:59:13 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094962,from=rss#post2094962https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094962,from=rss#post2094962I have had a decent amount of success with heating up the logo with an iron then just peeling it off. Heat, peel, heat, peel etc...nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rupidupe)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 15:51:00 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094961,from=rss#post2094961https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094961,from=rss#post2094961why not a REALLY thin coat of latex covering, instead of removing the logo? nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatJet3)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 15:48:03 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094959,from=rss#post2094959https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094959,from=rss#post2094959Quote:Zmanz wrote: And about the logo Lrcrow, aren't you gonna have a chest armor that will hide most of it? No. The Bat symbol will cover part of it, but not all, it looks like. I'm contemplating the suit as the base for a comic style one, black variant. Think 89, without all the latex. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lrcrow)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 15:35:14 +0000 Re: removing logos on a wetsuit?https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094958,from=rss#post2094958https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094958,from=rss#post2094958Wow if I had a buck for every time I tried to do that. That is one thing I have never been able to solve other than finding a less labeled suit. The material will almost always be damaged by attempt to remove it through any means including solvents. I just take a paint similar to the one the logo is done with can cover it up or make an additional latex armor piece to cover it. I have a question of my own about this suit, i hope you don't mind Lrcrow: since its only 0,5mm thick, will the neoprene sag if I glue pieces of armor to it? Nothing too heavy or thick, probably pievces of 1/4'' rubber. And about the logo Lrcrow, aren't you gonna have a chest armor that will hide most of it?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Zmanz)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 15:21:45 +0000 Removing Logos From a Wetsuithttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094953,from=rss#post2094953https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2094953,from=rss#post2094953Any tips on how to remove a company logo from a wetsuit? The area would not be covered by any "bat parts." Or would it be better to plastidip or latex over the area? The chest area on this suit is what I'm thinking about. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lrcrow)Wed, 11 Jun 2008 14:47:31 +0000
