Re: my BEGINS Cape Pattern / CAPE CUT OUT PICS (7/3/08)

LOVE the shape of this cape. You're doing a great job on it. What is the length from tip to tip at the longest part? Trying to find measurements of the one I did to compare.

A lot of guys (including myself) used a pattern from a member here by the name of batnemo. Here are a couple pics off his site. He has perhaps even changed the pattern since.

Hope he doesn't mind me linking his pics.

edit: Oh and btw, I am by no means saying this is any more or any less accurate than yours. Just wanted to show you other pics for reference sake. Please keep heading in the direction you're already headed in. :wink

Damn you for posting this so late !!! lol I had been wanting to find out how he did his cape for a while. I like his shape, and its much bigger. I think next cape I do will look like this, so it will be much bigger. The thing his lacks is the long tail. Well actually they are both similar, but also completely different in shape. I do want a more full cape though. I'll work on that in the future. Thanks dude!!!

Also one side of my cape is just shy of 74 inches long. Top to bottom is just about 64 inches too.

I can send you my final patterns too if anyone is interested. I think someone slightly shorter than me would like this shape alot, if they want some drag. You lose the fullness of the cape with this shape, but it still looks awesome.

Maybe a combo of both these capes would look killer. :wink

He sent me a better shot of the pattern with measurements but I can't seem to find it for the life of me. I'll keep looking.

And I would love to get my grubby hands on a copy of your pattern. Just not sure where and how I'd print it. :huh

That'd work awesome if you're willing! emoticon

And I found those measurements. One side was 78 inches. Top to bottom about 68ish. So just a few inches longer.

Sent ya an email with more details.

hey ink thanks for posting that pattern as well. What fabric is in that pic. Is it a velvet. Looks great.

Bryan dont worry so much about the size of your cape. Your pattern is awesome too. Looks good from what i can see. Just cant wait to see it all sewed up.

the pics i sent you are made form that pattern. it is a 7 panel cape but i changed it to a 5 panel cap. it is a great cap and has a lot of room in the front.

as a bombat cape it works well as the shortnes in tha back allows you to step backward and not snag your self on your own cape.

in turn the room in the front alows you to cover your self and anouther person. it looks great when the wind catches it as wel

and when you have a bad guy out for the count
